Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

Camera lens does not retract and shows camera error #e45

It appears that the error code is due to your lens being stuck. In many small digital cameras this is caused by a drop or jar to the camera and the lens being knocked off of its tracks. Make sure your camera battery is fully charged. Power the camera off. With the camera is laying flat on its back on a table or other level surface, see if the space or gap around the lens is an even amount. If not, it is probably out of its guide track. Holding one hand cupped, take the camera, face down and lightly strike it into the cupped palm of the other hand. That should dislodge any sand or grit. Then, holding the camera in one hand, grasp the lens gently and apply a light pressure toward the side with the larger gap around the lens. Do not apply a lot of force. Do this gently. If you hear a light "click" the lens should be back in place. Try powering the camera on to test the results. If it still doesn't retract, power it back off and lightly rotate the lens back and forth with you hand. Do not apply a lot of force! Again, if you hear a click, the lens should be back on its tracks. Power it up to test it. If that doesn't do the trick you probably need to take it to a repair shop or replace the camera.

Error45 Kodak easy share Ls743 LENS will not retract

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Camera locked - camera error #E45

Hi

www.Kodak.com says:
"E45" appears on your camera's display when your camera requires service or repair.

I think it is a lens error. They have a page on www.kodak.com called Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair. This is for USA only.
See what they suggest.

I may be cheaper just to get a new camera.

Hope this helps.

After long time battery is down and i charge it,but to put the camera on is shown camera error # E 45 that i should see manual guide.what can i do.the model is LS743

E45 is a lens error and can only be fixed via a repair.

However due to spare part shortage this model is no longer repaired. Instead KODAK offers a trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price.

Kodak easyshare ls743. lens wont retract. camera error #E45 shows on screen. battery is fully charged.

If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that is preventing the camera from properly powering up or powering down. If it hasn't been dropped, your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and give them a full charge. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Kodak easyshare ls743. lens wont retract. camera error #E45 shows on screen. battery is fully charged.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea
