Start filling the washer on the warm cycle, turn washer off,if the water keeps filling then you have a bad water inlet valve,if it turns off then you have a loose water level hose or the water level switch is bad-mike

Water wont stop filling on wash or rinse cycle , complete flood

take out the two screws that hold the top console down, flip the console up and on the left side you'll see the water level switch, make sure the clear hose is connected to it,if that's off the water will keep filling into the washer,if it is on take it off and blow gently into the pressure switch or the water level switch and listen for a clicking sound,if it doesn't click you could have a bad water level switch, next, unplug the washer, disconnect the lid switch harness and with a screw driver pop the two metal clips holding the back panel to the top of frame, pull the frame backwards to you and remove the frame off of washer, have someone blow into the clear line and check for any pin holes in the clear line or see if it popped off the bottom plastic piece that it goes to.if it looks ok change out the pressure switch but if there's a hole in the clear line that switch won't work it can't hold pressure and the water will just keep filling up the washer and won't stop like it's doing now, send the model number and i'll look up your part for you,or call your parts store and give them the model number and order the pressure switch or water level switch,it's the same thing, let me know what you find

The cold water will not stop running during cycles

The load selecter switch has a hose hooked to it that tells the water when to shut off, hose could be plugged with soap, take off of load switch and blow out, if water is still not shutting off then replace load selecter switch, if still doesnt work the only other thing is the fill valve, tis is where water hoses are connected to on back off washer, you will need to replace, water sediment usually clogs it up.

Water not shutting off to begin wash cycle flooded room

Probably one of the water cut off solenoids not shutting off.
Do you use both hot AND cold water?
Try using only cold water first. If that works, maybe hot water solenoid is faulty.
Next, connect cold water to the HOT inlet, and try it again. This means you have now tried each of the solenoids, and maybe identified which one is faulty (assuming thats the problem!). If water wont cut off after trying this, the problem will be with whatever level sensing device it has, but I am not familiar with the model you have, so cant help there. Good luck.

The washer doesn't stop filling and the agitator isn't working. The drain and spin cycles still work.

One of four things is happening...
1. Your drain hose is too low or is too far down the stand pipe and is causing water to siphon out of the machine
2. Your water inlet valve is stuck open and will need to be replaced.
3. The pressure switch (water level switch) has failed and won't switch between fill and wash.
Does it flood the room? If not probably #1.
Does the water stop running when you unplug the washer? If so, #3
Can you only stop the water flow by turning off the house hot and cold valves? If so, #2
4. If none of the above, then you might have a clogged pressure switch hose. It is a hose that connects to the water level switch (pressure switch) on the top end and the outer tub on the bottom end. It may have gunk plugging it up on the tub side preventing air pressure build up to trigger the water level switch. If so, remove the hose from the tub and clean out the end of the hose and the air dome that is attached to the tub. What brand is your machine?

70 series Kenmore washer

POWERUP, YOUR WASHER COULD BE THE LID SWITCH OR THE COLD WATER VALVE. AT THE END OF THE WASH CYCLE, THE MOTOR WILL SPIN OUT THE WATER, BUT ONLY IF THE LID SWITCH IS ACTUATED. IF THE SWITCH IS BAD, IT WILL NOT SPIN OUT THE WATER AND THE TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE FROM THAT POINT.
IF THE WASHER SPINS, THE NEXT STEP IS TO FILL WITH WATER FOR THE RINSE CYCLE. MOST WASHERS USE COLD WATER FOR RINSES. IF THE COLD WATER VALVE IS RESTRICTED OR FAULTY, THE WASHER WON'T FILL. IF THE WASHER WON'T FILL, THE WATER LEVEL SWITCH WON'T ACTIVATE AND THE TIMER WON'T ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STEP.
