I just got a rumor2 and have problems with the ringer
I just got a rumor2 and I have set up different ring tones one for all calls and a different one for unknown callers. When my phone rings, it is ringing with the alarm tone that I set up. I don't get it.

Here some solutions for your problem + a link to the user manual.

Calls are signalled in two ways. First, check the Ringer switch on the left side of the phone. It's a 3 position switch OFF/LO/HI. If the outside lines are blinking the MESSAGE light, then the ringer is probably turned off. If your intercom calls are toning but not ringing, you may have the AUTO ANS light lit. Press it until it's off and intercom calls will either start ringing or send an audible tone.
If it tones, then you have a programming problem where intercom calls are set to tone instead of ring. That's corrected in system programming.
menu 2 settings 3 tones incoming call alert (set to ringing) ringing tone ( pick your ring tone) ringing volume (set to level 5 loudest) vibrating alert (on) message alert tone (pick tone) instant message alert tone (standard) keypad tones (on) warning tones (on) this is for the alarm and ringtone this is where your problem is so double check these settings ok alert for (all calls)
Message/Ringer Lamp: The Message/ Ringer lamp informs you visually that you have a message or a call. When you receive a call, the lamp flashes depending on the ringing pattern. When the ringing pattern is set to Single (Slow flash), Double (Moderate flash), or Triple (Rapid flash) in your PBX, the lamp flashes. When the other ringing patterns are set in your PBX, the lamp may not flash. (e.g., S-Double, Call Waiting Tone1). When someone has left you a message, the lamp is lit continuously.
Please note that the above indicates that ring patterns are set in the the PBX. These are issues that require a real person to sit at the main system and program the features that users need. I hope you have an I.T. person that knows your phone system. If you don't, you'll have to find a communications company in your area that can program your system. Thanks for using Fixya.
The VT-9118 can use one of 4 different ring tones, and can be turned off.
To reset your ring tone:
Remove the handset from the base.
Press PROG. You should hear a single short beep.
Press #. You should hear a single short beep.
Press a number 1 through 4. You should hear a long "ring" tone (it might be startling!). You can try other numbers from 1 to 4 to hear them all.
Press MEM to confirm your ring. You will hear a medium beep.
To turn the ringer off, follow the same instructions, but choose number 5. Hope this helps you. If you need for information, you can download the user manual from http://www.vtechphones.com/docMgt/public/art/313/vt9118.pdf
