Changing the input on a hitachi tv without the remote

I'd unplug/disconnect the Roku and after 30 seconds try the control button on the back. If you can change the input do so, then plug the Roku back in. Until you use the input button on the back to change input to Roku, you should be able to use the other buttons on the back to control the TV. If this does not work, unplug both the TV and the Roku. Wait maybe a minute, then plug the TV back in and follow the above instructions. Here are other alternatives: Using physical buttons: You can find the physical buttons on the left or right back side of the Hitachi TV. Using these keys, you can change the input, adjust the volume, or turn on Hitachi TV without a remote. Press the Input button located at the back or side of the Hitachi TV. The list of connected sources will appear on the TV screen12.

Using external devices: Connect a wireless keyboard or mouse to your Hitachi TV and change the input1.

Buy a universal remote: You can buy a universal remote to control your Hitachi TV and change the source.

The Hitachi 46W500 has an Input button on the front of the TV. (This is the second button from the right. The right-most button is the Menu Button.) You should be able to press this repeatedly to switch between inputs.

If the Front Panel Lock is engaged, you need a remote to unlock this. (Only the Power button works when the FPL is engaged.) A universal remote which has a code that matches that needed to get the Menu button to work will do the job.

As there is no Menu button on its front panel, you must have a remote control to select inputs.

It will be difficult to match any other universal remote with this model Hitachi set. You have to get the original remote control to select all the functions with this TV. If your original remote control doesn't work at all, just buy a new one. You can get it from the authorised service center for Hitachi at your town. OK.

sounds like a simple input problem, find the input button on the remote or the tv and change the source input until you get a picture,

The first thing you will want to do is make sure the DISHremote is programmed to the TV, and if it already is please put the remote inTV mode and select Input and if it still does not change grab the Hitachiremote and try to change it from there. There should be buttons somewhere on the TV itself to switch input modes. Look around where the power button is located and see if there is a menu button you can access. Then use channel up/down and volume up/down to scroll thru modes to find input

Now I have got the problem clear, depending on the TV model there can be no way to have this HR20 functionality on your TV.

Universal remote may not have full functionality on HR20 .

The TV remote should have a function to select the input on TV, this is often called AV selector, or on some old model it is activated by pressing the 0 button, check this out and let me know.
