I have a singer 901. Stitches are not looping correctly on back of material. Seem too loose. Hiw to fix it? The stitches are not looping on the back of the material. Is the tension too loose?

Be sure presser foot (embroidery foot) is fully lowered or tension discs will not fully mate. There should be notable difference in tension with foot up verses foot down as you pull on top thread?

How to thread bobbin on Singer Serenade 30

The owner's manual should have instructions. Otherwise, search the internet for videos/tutorials for using your machine, ie:

How to set up singer sewing machine MP4

Machines vary on how the bobbin is installed. A lot of Singers have a drop-in bobbin, but others actually have a removable bobbin case. Just search until you find one that is similar to yours.

I want a free manual download for my singer sewing machine serenade 30?

Singer website has a search page for instruction manuals link is
http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals

but you may need to check the machine info panel near the power inlet and see if there is a model number, "Serenade" doesn't bring up anything and neither does 30.

I have a Bernina Virtuosa 153 sewing machine that is skipping stitches while trying to shorten a pair of jeans. I changed the needle to a 100/16 and am using all purpose thread.

You may need to increase the foot pressure to cope with the heavy denim material. Look carefully at the material as the machine tries to stitch ... if the foot is not keeping the material firmly on the stitch plate, it might be riding up on the needle (denim tends to be rather 'grippy') which will prevent the thread loop being formed correctly below the stitch-plate and therefore not getting picked-up by the CB hook. Changing to a bigger diameter needle might actually make the situation worse in this case ... go back to an 80 and try again.

I have a new FY5618 and it keeps skipping stitches ... and on one piece of leather it will ... but if i put ANY other piece of fabric ... it wont!

the reason it may skip stitches on leather is because it cannot form a loop for the hook to pick up because of the closeness of the material, you must use a proper leather needle

Looping of stitching on the reverse of the material.

put the tension to about 4 and make sure it is threaded in a N shape and remember the thread catcher above the needle from the bobbin to left down round tension up to arm down the side.

When making a straight stitch or Zigzag stitch, makes loops underneath the fabric This is for a Singer sewing machine model 5817c

Your top tensioner is too loose.make sure the thread runs through all the relevant eyes and then tighten the top tension little by little as you do a sample few stitches.
