I have a 5918-505 mI put it togehter for the first time since 1980 I had no problems once I located all of the parts: 4 metal guide rails, 2 wooden ends with 2 wheels in each, 2 wooden drop sides (or front and back that go up and down.) 2 metal toe kick rails that hold the sides up, 1 mattress springs, 4 metal mattress spring supports. attached to the inside of the wooden ends are 4 hanger pieces for the mattress spring support to hang on.
You would need to contact Delta cribs at 800-218-2741 for replacement parts. Good news is, they will normally replace any part for free, since the crib is less safe if there is a part missing, and they do not want to be held liable for any injury.
Most cribs have tabs on the rails of them .... take everything out .. bedding, mattress, etc. Take a look at the platform that the mattress lays in especially the corners.... You might see a hook at each corner that fits into a release tab unlock the realease tab and remove the hook. Do this for each side and reinsert the hooks at the correct level in the crib... If this is not the case you may need to look at the owners manual... But I think you should be able to get a good idea about how it lowers when you remove all the bedding out of the crib..... good luck
I recommend you contacting one of the highly trained CSR's at Products America. They will be able to go over your crib with you and determine what is missing and may even be able to provide you with the missing part. The numbers are 800-205-9642 or 800-772-1041. Call them anytime Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm CST.
I lost my bottom during a move. I fixed it by using a "wood" crib board (that holds the matress) and removing the J hooks, replacing it with strong chain about 6 inches long in place of all 4 J hooks, then using the original bolts, putting it through the end loop of the chain, into the crib to hold it firmly and safely in place. It's working safely and perfectly.
I have directions for the Lullabye Princeton Crib, Model 311146 that I purchased in 1993. It sounds like the same type of hardware that allows the front rail (only) to move up and down, with springs at the bottom to cushion the drop. If you think this might help you and you want me to post these directions, just let me know.
it seems there's a lot of screw are missing but i can help you with that, just search on this site: http://www.bestmattressreviews.com/simmons-beautyrest-mattress.html
E-mail Simmons customer service with the model number (located on the bottom of the crib) and they will send you the parts #s and how to order spare parts. [email protected]
