I have a new HP officejet pro 6978 and readiris corporate. It will scan from the flat bed to readiris but I would like it to scan from the (top) multiple page option on my officejet. How do I do that.
Google is ALWAYS the first place to check. Just search for scan multiple pages hp readiris

Scanning multiple pages on the HP printer can be done by using the Readiris application. Open the Readiris application. Click the down arrow under the Scan button to open the Scanner Settings. In the next window, click on Scan another page after and enter after how many seconds the next page must be scanned. By do ping so, you can avoid having to go back to your computer and click the Scan button inside the Readiris application. Just replace the pages at your own pace and Readiris will start scanning the next page automatically.
To scan multiple pages on an ADF
Click the down arrow beneath the Scan button to access the Scanner Settings. In the Scanner window, select ADF (automatic document feeder). This way you can scan one page after the other on your scanner. You must uncheck the Scan another page after option to make the ADF box available. Call Our Toll-Free 1-866-293-9220
