I have just downloaded a 128 memory card into Lightroom 6, and a number of the images on the card (that are visible when I view them in camera), are simply not visible in the Lightroom download. when I try to repeat the download I am informed that there are no new images to download. when I try to re-import the images, all of the thumbnails of the missing images are visible, but also indicate that these images already exist. Help!
Instead of downloading the pictures using Lightroom, make a file on your desktop. Copy and paste all of your photos from the memory card into the folder. Open the folder and change your computer's Finder (Mac) or Explorer (PC) to the thumbnail viewing mode. If all of the files show up there, try opening them from there. If not, let me know and we will proceed to step 2.
Ok Jan,
I have a D800 and I am assuming that the D600 is about the same for this purpose. Also, I will assume that you are using OS10 on you Mac and that you are using Adobe Bridge CC or Lightroom CC. If you are using some other version, the instructions are similar.
1) Make a new folder on your desktop by right clicking your trackpad or mouse. A selection menu will appear. Click on the top selection, “New Folder”. A new folder will appear on your desktop. Name the folder or leave it as is.
2) You didn’t say if the files were on an SD or CF flash memory card. If it is on SD, your computer probably has an SD slot. Insert the SD card from your camera in the slot. CAUTION! If you have an iMac, the SD slot will be on the right side of the computer under the CDROM slot. Look at the slot while you insert the SD card. I didn’t once and I had to take my iMac to the Apple Store for them to remove it from the CDROM slot.
If you used a CF flash memory card, you need to buy an external adapter that plugs into one of your computer’s USB ports.
3) Shortly after plugging in the memory card, it will appear on your desktop. Open it as you would with any other folder. You will probably find another folder inside, which you should also open. All of your files should appear at that point.
4) If the finder is not in the preview mode, change it to that mode by clicking on the left most of the four “View” buttons at the top of the window. All of your pictures should now be displayed. At this point you should be able to import them into Adobe Bridge or Lightroom.
Please let me know what happens.

Thanks Bart.
I am travelling and will not be at my Mac until the weekend. However, I am not sure how to copy and paste the Raw files from my memory card to the desktop without going through Lightroom. Can you give me more info?
Kind regards
