I understand that you're receiving what you believe to be a 'false' paper jam on your HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One Printer. I would like to work with you today with resolving this issue. Paper jams can be real or false. The product might report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper. A false paper jam may also be the result of having a bad paper jam at a point in time and that bad jam causing a hardware issue to the paper sensor or rollers. I am going to provide you with some additional troubleshooting steps that apply to both real and false paper jams. You did state that you already checked the paper pathway inside the printer and failed to find any evidence of paper being stuck, but please run the step-by-step troubleshooting below, even if you have already run some of the steps.
1.unplug the power from printer to reboot it 2..if the lights flashing like woof said check for jammed paper or sticky label inserts in the back door of the printer. 4.clean the circuit bit of the cartridge (sometimes a thin film of ink can stop the circuit)
