I can't find a connection connector for a wired remote, and I can't find an infra red sensor, for a IR remote. Then in the menu settings nothing is mentioned about remote control settings, so I think your camera does not support any remote control. Could you check with a multi meter if the battery is giving enough power? The voltage should be a few tenths of a volt higher than the 7,4 Volt printed on the battery, when you mesure it with a multimeter. If the voltage looks ok, please check if the connection points on the battery and in teh camera are clean and shinny. Only clean contacts with contact fluid and a cotton swap. Never us a sharp tool. Sometimes you have to remove and put in the battery a second time.
