Problem with speed control device. Check switch for continuity with various speed settings.
It does not start off very slow - more like a medium speed - and then does not increase speed until it gets to about speed 8. The boost button does work to increase the speed.
Your motor is obviously good - the speed control is bogus.
Is there anyway to fix that?
U can try replacing the switch. U can consider a repair option but with small appliances it is usually not cost effective. If the switch is also a part of an electronics board, the latter might also be the cause of the anomaly.
Can U live with just a few speeds?
Or what you can also do is just run the motor at full speed and then hook up to it an external speed control for motor. That will also work and restore variable speeds.
Hubby is a really good fix it man but taking it apart is not obvious. I like the idea of an external speed control. Do you know where I can find the disassembly instructions.
Thanks very much for you help. Really appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Saw a speed control on ebay for motor with brushes for 20 bucks.
