How to change date on a watch?

There are Mondaine watches that do the same thing. I believe that it's because the date display is actually two separate disks, each reading 0-9. Most date watches only have a single large disk for 1-31. Although your watch is capable of displaying, for example, the 33rd of the month this doesn't happen in practice as the logic built into the watch prevents it.
I assume that using 2 smaller disks to display the date, rather that 1 large one, is for design purposes - possibly it would get in the way of additional hands or other features on the watch.

mcdevito75 here The stem has 2 positions, we all know the 1 to pull the stem out and set the time, day, date. try this, first go thru the watches 24 hour cycle to get the month you need, now slip a fingernail just under the stem (crown) and gently lift to it"s first position, it may take a few times to get used to, when you have it turn the crown (stem) to change the date easily, change the date to 1 date before the date you want, now go thru the watches 24 hour cycle to get to the date you need. Now the watch is set and will change on time at around mid--nite.

your watch do not need a battery as it is automatic/selfwinding mechanical watch. There are two push buttons on the side. One of them is for month setting and another one for day setting. Use small pin or ball point pen to push them. Try both and you will see which one is for the month and which for the day setting. Push repeatedly until the desired month and day is set. Date in small window can be set by winding crown. Pull out crown half way out and set the date, then pull out crown further out to the time setting position and set the correct time. Push the crown back in and wind it back and forth at least 15 times to start the watch going. Before you start any of adjustments, set the time to 5.30 (am or pm - doesn't matter). It will prevent accidental damage of day/date/month mechanism. Rate me, plz.

compensating and keeping the right air pressure inside watch case if it
is used for diving purposes.
If you will try to set something using this crown, nothing will happen,
as it has special springs, gaskets and bars built into it, but has no
any connection with watch movement.
