Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board....

It might be one of the power supplies. There are three in this model. One for the sound, one for the video, and one for the computer components. The video power supply is probably shot. They cost about $200 a peice from LG. If there was a "pop" sound when the video stoped, then it might be one of the circuit boards in the back. Yet again, they are three, each costing around $200 from LG.

I have the same problem using HDMI cable, I was able to get it working using composite or RCA
cables. I still cant get it working on none of the 3 hdmi inputs

I just bought a 42" lg hdtv very nice but had a big spoto in the middle of the screen. I used windex wipes to clean the screen and it is good as new again!! Hope this helps!!

On your cable box remote press the hd zoom button. I have comcast cable box and it worked for me.
