SOURCE: no picture, only sounds when playing DVD

Hi,

The issue might be that you could be missing some codes to play the dvds.

First i want to uninstall all the codecs from the control panel - add/remove programs.

Then download the latest vesion of klite codec pack with the player.

The link is :

http://ftp.freenet.de/pub/filepilot/windows/multimedia/video/k-lite_codec_pack/klcodec390f.exe

Install this by selecting "lots of stuff" with the player.

Then play your DVD, it will work fine.

Good Luck.

SOURCE: go video VR4940 VCR video recording has sound but no picture

You can try cleaning the video tape heads. The vcr has 2 different heads. One for audio which is fixed and a drum head for video with 2 heads on it that rotate. The best way to clean them is to take a lint free cloth ad wrap it tightly around your finger. Put some alcohol on the cloth and place it on the drum. Then rotate the drum as you hold your finger against the drum. DO NOT move your finger up and down as you can brake the head off. The other option is to go buy a head cleaning stick. It's a piece of chamie on a plastic tongue depressor. I've cleaned hundreds of them with my finger though. You can clean the whole tape path with the rag. Good Luck.

My Samsung TV picture is supplied via a HDMI lead

yes you need to connect audio out from the tv to audio in on the dvd surround. you need the red/white phono to phono leads, simply connect together and select audio (av,au) on the input selection.

No Sound when I play a DVD, but I do have sound when I play a Music CD

Open your sound controls to make sure nothing is muted or set on low volume.
If that's not the case, open your audio drivers program and check to see if nothing is muted.

Symphonic television has no sound

It's probably either a defective speaker, or something defective in the Audio Amplifier stages. If the set has an audio output jack, you could try plugging into a small stereo and see if that gets you by.

Hope that helps...

Wharfdale DVDRHD400 dvd recorder with 80gb hard drive

Sounds like if you are getting the right Video and not audio then the audio are hooked in wrong. Unless you are on SAP (Second audio program) in this case take it off of Sap. If you are getting the sound that you are looking at once you change channels to view another program, then it should be easy. Just change audio jacks back to AV1, 2, 3 etc depending on which one you are using. Hope this helps!

No Sound

First of all try getting a Symphonic remote - http://www.miracleremote.com/ not that expensive. Then you can access all areas of the TV, including all sub menus and see how the audio is set-up.. Could be you have it in SAP mode, (Second Audio Programming), in which case you will hear nothing...

VHS problem, any help?

It sounds to me like you have a problem with the reel sensors not detecting movement of the tape through the VCR. This could also be caused by a defective voltage regulator(s) that powers the sensors. This model was made by symphonic/funai (1-800-242-7158), and it is not likely worth repairing.
