Followed instructions to set up the headset got as far as scanning for the bluetooth device. But will not register the device. Can you help please thanks.

Have you put the headset into "discoverable" mode? This has to be done before the computer (or other Bluetooth capable device) can "see" it and register it. Check the instructions for the headset as to how to put it in the discoverable mode.

My bluetooth was connected to my phone and one

Start with your headset turned off. Then, press and hold the call button for 6 to 10 seconds, until the indicator light is steadily lit (it will flash as if it was being turned on, but don't release the button at that phase). It is in pairing mode. Now make your phone's bluetooth application search for new devices. After a while, the H500 will appear on-screen. Select it and make it connect. If a pairing code (or PIN, or passkey) is requested, enter '0000' (four zeros). If the pairing process is successful, the indicator light will flash rapidly, and then, it will enter the stand-by mode. Otherwise, turn your headset off, and go through the whole process again.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Regards, Carlos

My iPhone 3G does not discover my Motorola H500.

Try this link. It solved my issue www.scribd.com/doc/280088/motorola-h500-bluetooth-earpiece-manual. Basically what you need to do is power the earpiece off. Make sure that your IPhone is not currently attempting to discover bluetooth devices (i.e. Bluetooth is OFF). Hold the On button on your earpiece (it has the symbol of a phone on it) for 6-10 seconds. The light on the earpiece remains lit. Now your earpiece is in discovery mode. On your IPhone, go to Settings, General, Bluetooth. Turn Bluetooth ON. Now your phone and your earpiece are both in discovery mode. When you see "Headset" listed, select it and enter the password "0000". Your IPhone is now paired with your H500 headset.

Trying to pair with bluetooth

I have a Motorola H500 headset & was having the same problem. I think it's all in the timing. With the headset off, hold down the Call button for 6 to 10 seconds until the light stays lit--solid light, not blinking. This is when the headset is in "discoverable" mode. Immediately access the settings & tools menu on the phone, then to the bluetooth communication settings to locate & pair the phone with the headset. Hope this helps with your devices.
