I bought an RCA smart tv and it was working fine until I picked up the RCA remote to change channels and now I get "no signal" on my TV screen. How do I fix this?

Is the TV set to air or cable? It has to be set to air/antenna and a channel search has to be done first before a picture will show.

Try replacing the batteries of the remote first, and make sure there is no corrosion on the contacts. If that fails, you may have to re-program the universal remote for your TV. If that fails, then you either have a problem with your remote, or the sensor of the TV. Hint, use a digital camera to look at the "light" (LED) of the remote while you press the button. The digital camera can "see" that infrared light, and you can see it on your digital camera screen! This works with dedicated digital cameras, but may not work with smart-phone cameras. For example, it does NOT work with my iPhone, but does work with my Sony digital camera.

Try attaching a tv signal amplifier between the antenna and the tv.

Signal not strong enough in your area for this indoor ant...Does it work with an outdoor ant?

• You have to set the channel you want as a favorite first and you can do this from the TV. This is why the channels skip as you press up and down. Sometime or another those were someones favorite channels.

1. Press "MENU" on the TV until "SET UP" appears on the screen.
2. Now press ^ or v until "FAVORITE CH" appears in purple.
3. Now press < or > to display the favorite channel FAVORITE CH menu.
4. You will use < or > to got between "SET and "CLEAR."
5. So now go to "SET" and press ^ or v until you get to channel 1.
6. If you want to delete a channel first then select "CLEAR" and then add the channel you wish.

• What your doing when you push the channel up and down on the TV buttons is going through the favorite channels. So make one of the favorite channels channel 1 and program your remote.

This is 2003 model and does have a hard reset. It will return set to as it was when new in box, on air band on channel three, most likely you did something with remote that changed something.

I am in California and can tell you how to with the set on with the Mitsubishi remote enter the OPTION MENU AND RESET IT.

I had the same problem so I moved the virgin media box to behind the LG TV. Problem solved as an infra red sent out by the TV on power up doesnt affect the digibox anymore.. ;0)

It can be a faulty infra-red receiver board, usually wont pick up signal from wide angle or distance. what is your tv?

using the menu button on the t.v. set an alarm for 1 min in the future. have the t.v change to channel 00 or the input channel @ that time. turn off the t.v and wait until the alarm turns the t.v on.
