SOURCE: leaking microwave oven???

The steam is perfectly safe, as with any other oven it has vents. Just as long as the door is shut and intact your safe.

I would recommend changing the diodes as well. This will usually take care of the problem.

SOURCE: Kenmore Microwave door adjustment

Depends on the door. It likely can be adjusted they have 2 screws on the door bracket you may have to remove the cover to see them. But it also needs to be checked with a leakage meter to make sure its not leaking.

RadioShack used to make a low cost meter not certified or anything but a good way to see if its leaking.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid microwave (builtin) door jammed

I believe the only way of gaining access to the door latch assembly is by removing the cover. You can use needle nose pliers to grip the sides of the screws to slowly turn them out. You might want to visit this web site www.applianceaid.com enter your model number then scroll down until you see an exploded view of your model. Click to enlarge the diagram of your model exposing the latch assembly. I hope this is of help to you. If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. D. Lange

SOURCE: microwave door shut, but interior light is on - micro won't work

Yes. One of your door switches is not working. It could be an alignment issue or a faulty switch. There are actually 3 switches in the door latch area.

Why do microwaves have little holes on the inside top, left and right? I loosen the panel near the control switches, and I can see through them to inside the microwave, while it is on. Concern?

the holes are to allow condensation and heat to escape during the cooking process
you will notice that the glass door is made up of many small holes so that you can see the cooking process
the holes are of such a size that the length of the microwave is unable to penetrate and so cause radiation outside the oven
tat is what the oven light is outside the oven proper ( behind the holes section) as the micro waves cannot get to the metal fixture
If you are still concerned , talk with a repair shop

The inside light bulb that works when the door opens and food is cooking is burned out, I have the new bulb but don't know where to replace it.

Brand and model would help but I'll guess at this. If micro is a wall hung unit over the range, you usually need to remove the top grill assembly above the door. Then look inside directly above the area where the bulb is located. You should see a metal cover with usually 1 screw in it to remove. Once screw is out that metal plate usually pulls forward and upward to reveal the bulb and socket. Replace bulb and reverse procedure to assemble.
If the micro is a counter top model---the complete outer case usually needs removed if you don't see a small access door by the bulb. Remove all screws around back edge and any screws in the side panels---then lift back edge and pull outer case rearward to remove.

How do I replace kitchenaid microwave door handle?

This is not a fun one if you take a putty knife and go in between the outer door and frame you can release the outer door cover hears the catch over time the door frame becomes brittle so there is a 50/50 chance the frame will break trying to separate it

The door press opener button of my kitchenaid

What usually breaks is the door open lever, but it may also be that the rear side of the door open button has worn down too far to work.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this. On an over-the-range model, usually only the control panel needs to be removed.

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

Looking to replace the plastic piece on the vertical edge of the door (handle side) on my Kitchenaid Microwave/Hood combo khms145kss1. Is it possible to just replace this instead of purchasing the entire...

They don't show the entire door assembly as being available.

But you can replace the outer door frame (outer door panel)part number 8184319.

At $167.94, it's not cheap. But you can get it here.

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screw(s) you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

In some cases, you then have to gently rotate the handle to unlock it.

Kithchenaid Microwave

You'll notice there are small clips holding the stainless outer door to the black metal inner door. Get a bunch of putty knives (butter knives work too) and work a knife into about every other clip. I did it on the bottom. Once you're sure all the bottom clips are free, and you've removed the three screws on the side of the door, you'll be able to gently pull the stainless outer door away from the black inner door and get to the handle screws.

I bent both doors in this process, and tore the black plastic liner into a few pieces while I was getting everything out, so I had to buy a new door ($200). Be careful.

GE JVM1650BB005

You can search under Repair Parts and enter your full model number JVM1650BB005 and get an exploded view diagram here: http://www.geappliances.com/shop/prts/ That diagram can be a great help. Also, I've attached below a door panel diagram from a Sharp model. Your GE disassembly may work the same way. If you haven't already taken the door off the microwave, I would recommend you don't unless you leave the hinge assembly attached to the door and remove the door from the hinges. It's critical to be sure you get (or keep) the door and hinged aligned exactly as they were to prevent leakage.
