How can I unlock the door to my Whirlpool Duet washing machine?

My Whirlpool Duet washing machine won't unlock the door and I can't open the door and I can't use the washer, the door lock light just blinks and none of the other buttons work

Try unplugging it for a bit. I assume you have tried the cancel feature. On mine you just push and hold the start/pause button for three or four seconds.

Try this link..Pull down on the bottom panel and pull it away from the washer. Reach through the open panel and up to the door lock. Find the release ring below the locking mechanism. Pull down on the ring to unlock the door.

My whirlpool duet washer wfw8300sw02 won't unlock
Hi, I'm not sure why your door won't unlock but you can manually unlock it by removing the front panel under the door (3 screws at bottom of machine) with the panel off reach up just under the lock mechanisim and there should be a plastic tab hanging down, that is the manual release. Pull it down and your door should open. Remember, power off first! Good luck.
