The battery in a 2003 Jayco Freedom is typically located under the couch. If the battery is not located there, you can also check the storage compartments and the the area around the frame of the RV.
Most RV outside lights are rectangle in shape and have a plastic cover. If your light is like as described, simply squeeze the sides of the plastic cover to release the inside molded ridge on the cover from behind the stationary ridge on the light fixture and pull away.
The units are slightly different as some of them have continuous ridges (squeeze center sides) and other just ridges close to the ends (squeeze toward end of sides).
To re-install just squeeze and insert back into position.
