We have Savin 4035sp printer in our office that is printing properly except that the top of each page is faded. Is there something I can wipe off/clean to remedy this?

You will need a tech.

the drum and developer are worn out

this causes toner dusting and the toner dusting has covered the laser 'slit' glass on one end blocking the laser from drum.

you can clean the glass but problem will return unless you replace drum and developer

Savin 917 Copies are faded on the Left side of page.

Kenneth:
I would remove and cover the drum carriage (to protect the drum from damage by exposure to light), and check and clean the corona wires. There is a charge corona and a transfer corona, so that's two coronas that you'll have to clean. If you can remove the coronas from the machine, you can do a better job of cleaning the coronas. A faded line down the page like you're getting could be a paper shard stuck to one of the coronas... it's been known to happen.

Brother mfc-8710dw prints with image drop out down left of page

Seems like the laser unit needs cleaning. It is located in the area where the toner and drum. Remove drum and toner and shine some light to the ceiling of that area. You will see a glass line. Wipe it with avdamp cloth. Reinsert drum and toner and print something to see the difference. Hopefully that's all it is. Also may be a problem with fuser. If first solution didn't help, wipe over a printed page with bare hand. If your hand gets toner on it, fuser is not baking properly

Lexmark C920 color print is faded on bottom of page

Quite possible something happened to the printheads.....especially the Magenta one. Might have been 'bumped' out of alignment. They might just need to be wiped clean with a toner cloth. They are usually right above the toner cartridges. Have you tried a color alignment adjustment in Config mode?

Faint area down left side of page

When you say "Cleaned the lens" I presume you mean the four LED print heads. Use a spirit to clean them with if the toner dust is hard to remove. I usually just use a finger and wipe the entire length. Make sure there is no foreign item laying on the drum top where the black plastic film is as the led head may not seat properly on it. Clean all the silver high voltage springs down the left side of the printer. They make contact with the drums. If you still have a problem then try printing solid colour blocks ie Yellow, Magenta ,Cyan and Black . This will identify which colour is giving the problem . Change that drum and all should be well.

HP 5610 - printing fades down the page

the printer carriage might be wearing out, it happens on the 5610's, may be time for a new printer. The fading issue sounds like a cartridge issue. Try a oem?

Printer issue...:(

Hi MaCaTa2,

It can be frustrating when things aren't going smoothly.
Sounds like you're wasting a lot of dye film and cards too!

What program are you printing the badges from?
You have a very 'paper' size with this type of printer.
If you select 'Magicard Printer Series' as the printer, you will then see a special paper size called 'CR80 Edge To Edge'. This is basically the size of a credit card. (2 1/8 x 3 3/8" (54 x 85.6mm). Check your font sizes are not too big. Any text printed on the back of the card is on page 2 of 2 (on the Tango model, a Rio would feed a second card).
Experiment with an application like MS Word, where you can clearly see the 'pages'.
Create a new word document, straight away go to 'File, Print', select 'Magicard Printer Series' from the printers list, then 'Close' (not 'Print'). Next, go to 'File', 'Page Setup', for the paper size choose 'CR80 Edge to Edge', set all the margins to '0' (this is a 'full bleed' printer.
You will now see a credit card size page to work on. If you fill this page (or insert a page break), you continue onto page 2 (the card back - only available on Tango).

I hope this helps.

Regards,

MC.
