You mean a circuit breaker in the breaker box?
Breakers for outlets are normally rated at 15 or 20 amps depending on the size of the wire. Depending upon what else is plugged in you could be exceeding the max, the iron could be bad the breaker bad or the outlet. Read what number is on the breaker. Try plugging a lamp in that outlet.
Inspect the cord on the iron for broken insulation. Now try plugging the iron into a plug in a different room. Does it work there? If if flips a new breaker its probably bad.
If it works in another room, what else is using electricity in the original room? You can tell by flipping it back off and check what's not working. Space heater? coffee pot, fridge, water heater, hair dryer, toaster, vacuum, dishwasher? These are all big users of AMPS and by adding the iron you may have exceeded the load for the wire. You will have to not use the iron and the other item at the same time.
If it always worked there before, have you added something new?
Dead short internally or bad wiring in the cord
cord can be replaced by electrician but otherwise junk it and get a new one
