Hi there , my name is darrell , i turned my furuno tz14 on this morning and i have no detailing on my chart , it still shows me waypoints etc but no detail

Try changing range setting. Also try reseating the chart card if you're not using the built-in NOAA charts.

GPS/plotter/sounder will turn on and operate properly. Unit will

Try removing your chart card then powering up your unit. Chances are your chart could be bad and is causing the problem.

Furuno sounder trandecer problems

the leading edge of the ducer should be higher than the aft portion. The leading edge must not be below the bottom of the transom. To determine if it is turbulence or radiated interference, put the boat in neutral and run motor up in RPM, if it fails then, with boat stationary, then proximity to motor is a problem and you should buy and in-hull ducer. glueing the transom ducer may or may not work well.

1723 Furuno

are you in salt water? yes furuno can fix and reseal, but saltwater inside can not be stopped and you should cut your losses. If you wish, place a desiccant pack inside the unit. that is one of those little silica gel packs that you got with the christmas presents. Be very careful and precise with the rubber seal and you may be able to seal it back up. Temperature cycling can draw in humid air which can not escape, so open it, put a couple of desiccant packs in there, or ship it to Furuno. If the board is corroded, forget it, the board costs too much!
