How to Change the needle position in XL2600i brother sewing machine?

It appears that your machine does not have the ability for the user to change the needle position. Instead, it seems that the selection of the specific stitch pattern determines where the needle is positioned, ie #1 appears to set the needle in the left position but other stitch and width selection will move the needle position.

Guide to Understanding Sewing Machine Needle Position

Make sure the bobbin is the correct one for the machine first. Try another bobbin on a scrap of material. Bobbin will fit into the bobbin holder going the incorrect way. Make sure the thread is unwinding in the correct direction. mine has a arrow for the correct position. Hope this helps.

are you still having problems with the tension?

try these suggestions
check top tension & try a tension of 3 to 5
rethread the machine
try a new needle-flat side goes to the back of machine--also make sure the needle is the correct one for the fabric & thread

Move the needle how?

Make sure the needle has been properly installed - flat side to the back of the machine.

Thread the top thread with the presser foot up - always.

Make sure the bobbin thread is feeding from the bobbin spool in the correct direction and through the correct guides.

Hold onto the thread tail at the needle and lower (by hand and not the power pedal) and raise the needle to pull the bobbin thread to the top of the machine.

Take both thread tails under the presser foot and to the back of the machine before you begin to sew.
