We have a Kelvinator Impression series fridge, rear inside wall bulged and pushed shelves out opening door, switched off for awhile, shelves fit back in and door closes.

There is still a bludge in the back wall and the cavity between the internal and external rear walls seem to be full of water, (I thought water may have been a build up of condensation, frozen and bulged the internal wall). Fridge appears to be working ok, I pulled the evaporator tray off the top of the compressor, drain seems to be clear, there is another plastic gland 100mm to the side of the drain pipe and above the evaporator tray which may be a valve (not sure if you can confirm), did try to push it up but it would not move ( may be stuck) thought of putting a small hole low through the inside wall to drain water out, not sure if this is a good idea and it may not fix any underlying problem causing the collection of water between the walls. Any ideas would be appreciated. Regards Wayne

I have no idea what would cause this, maybe the defrost heater, not sure.

How do I level my domestic kelvinator fridge . the floor seems to be level . I recently relocated to Cairns

the front feet under the door opening are adjustable screws. You may have to use a shifter to get them to move as they mat be rusted . adjust so the fridge slopes slightly to the rear. This keeps any moisture on the back wall to drain out the hole and the door will close if left open

Replacement thermostats depends on whether the fridge is a double door or single door model. You can buy this part from your appliance parts store/supplier.

first look for an air vent in the bottom of the fridge(a small grill on the inside wall) & make sure nothing is blocking it, like bread eg: if there isn't then unplug your fridge & let it defrost, check the drain outlet in the back of the freezer, sometimes a small item like a frozen pea gets into the drain & the water freezes around it causing the air not to return to the freezer from the fridge, to push air into the fridge you must be able to get air out or it presurises,

How do you defrost the kelvinator cyclic 300 fridge?

hi,
a manual defrost? unplug and get a 9by11 cake pan and a bunch of towels and a hairdryer. put the hairdryer on LOW only and get it positioned in the freezer (door) compartment so its pointing towards the back. cake pan in the bottom towels below. and on the floor. leave the door open about 3 or 4 inches but NOT shut so you have some air circulation. and check it frequently. make sure the hair dryer isnt pointed at the plastics at all. takes a day. pull it from the wall, remove the rear access cover behind the fridge and blow it out with a vac or air compressor too. theres an access panel inside the freezer and if your handy, your ice blockage causing that problem lives behind there in the freezer. use caution if your going to attempt taking that plate off inside. use nothing sharp.
