Replace the lamp. The lights flashing will also indicate what is wrong. Watch how they flash. Go to the manufacturers website and they way they are flashing indicates what is wrong (ex. 3 quick flashes, long continuous flashes...etc.) When you change the lamp reset the lamp counter in the menu and clean or replace the dust filters as well.
The problem you are describing sounds like one of two issues. Either the lamp is bad and needs replaced, or there is a power supply fault. If you have tried replacing the lamp already, make sure you reset the lamp counter or the projector may still not function properly.
does the temp warning light come on when the projector shuts off? if so, you may also try cleaning the air vent filters and ensure there is proper air flow around the projector. if that checks out then have the projector serviced as the power supply is likely suspect.
The first may be due to overheating. Most projectors have a "air filter" that can be removed and cleaned. If it gets clogged with dust over time, the projector can't breathe and shuts down.
The second cause may be your lamps life hour clock. Most projectors keep track of the amount of time that their bulbs have been active. Once a preset # of hours has passed the projector will limit functionality until a new bulb has been installed AND the lamp life clock reset. Most projectors do not automatically reset the lamp life clock after a new bulb is inserted.
There should be instructions on how to reset the lamp clock in your users manual, and info on cleaning the air filter. Unfortunately I went to the Sanyo website and was unsuccessful in locating a PDF of the user manual for you.
check the follwoing : check lamp physically for melted filament, white deposits on filament/ reflector, if so change lamp if lamp looks perfect, the ballast needs to be replaced, also check for fans if they are running fine
The Fix Ya rep suggested that I try the "Reset" button located next to the Audio out on the side of the projector; this solution proved to be the fix I needed. I was able to get the lamps to warm up and get into the menu to cut back the bulbs/power consumption on start-up, allowing the projector to function for a problem-free 4 hour period Unfortunately, I had the same issue this morning, but the same fix worked again.
