SOURCE: TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

SOURCE: PROBLEM WITH GETTING LOCAL hd CHANNELS

You need to have a set top box.

By law, as of March 1, 2007, almost all televisions should include a built-in tuner (called HDTV, digital, or ATSC tuners) that can receive high-definition programs over the air by simply connecting an antenna. Your HDTV doesn't have such a tuner, you'll need to connect an external tuner (or cable or satellite box) to watch high-definition programming. External over-the-air HDTV tuners currently cost at least $150.

Hitachi 50v500 lcd rear projection just trying to get the setup so cable works on ant a can't make the channel move when im on ant a set up.

be aware this model has almost a 100% failure rate on the light engine which while not related to this issue should be kept in mind.

If you have cable get a box with a/v jacks on the back and hook to a rear input on the set--bypass the whole issue and get a better picture.

PS: I don't think it is the set itself causing this ........

Problem recording of hd tv with cable box from

Here are a few items to check and how you need to set your recording.

1. Your HD box should have a coax out (or to TV) connection on the back of the box.
2. Connect a coax cable from the back of the HD box to the "RF IN (FROM ANT.)" in the back of the VCR.
3. When you set your VCR to record you need to set it to copy channel 3 and tune the HD box to the channel you want to record.
This should fix your problem...

Good Luck...

I have a hitachi rptv model #43FWX20B and the picture has a red tint to it. Opened back up and red green and blue bulbs light up. red bulb stays bright while blue and green go dim to bright as tv plays....

Howdy;
Since you don't have any white lines with the red screen/picture I would say that the red bulb (CRT) is conducting too much. There is an adjustment control for that. The 'sceen' control is behind the speaker cover and service cover. Turn red screen control slightly to the left until you get a good black and white picture.

Good Luck, Big Irish.

My 42 inch sylvania plasma tv does not have a coax connection, so how do i hook up my cable to the audio/video connection? i know there is an rf converter to transfer audio/video to coax but i really...

Since your TV only has audio and video input jacks, you can connect those to audio and video output jacks on the VCR. Now connect the coax cable to the RF/ant input on the VCR and you'll have to change channels by using the VCR channel selector.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

How to connect an dvd to old tv

they make a small box called an RF modulator. It takes the audio/video signals and turns them into a signal the coax can read. You can pick one up at electronic stores. There usually about 15-25 $.

RCA D56W20 picture problems

More information is required to properly troubleshoot this problem. How is your television connected when you are watching HD? Do you have HDMI for this, do you have a satellite or digital cable box? For analogue are you using regular coax antenna (cable TV), or are you going through a cable or satellite box?
This could be related to the aspect ration setting. perhaps you ahve changed your aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3 or some other setting. If you are connected via HDMI, then the digital signal may be "normalizing" your picture during HD, but reverting back to the other setting.

Check you video settings very carefully. HD televisions are very difficult to tweak properly.

Picture problem

Most likely there is a strong possiblity that the vertical scan amplifier for the observed colour channel is starting to fail. An experienced TV tech who works on your model type can fix this.

Any fault is fixable. It is a question of the amount you are willing to spend, and the avialability of parts from the manufacture.
