Taking apart

Question about Brookstone Desk Fans: Slim Personal Desk Fan
Open Question
Taking apart I took mine apart by removing the small screws that hold it together. my top fan cage was broken and loose. I glued it back together and the next day I just reassembled it and it works fine.. just look at what you are doing and dont FORCE anything common sense should allow you to do this... I am a retired auto mechanic 80+ years old and it did not give me any trouble until the e-clip jumped off, but I found it and all is well.. the screws are shiny and the case is black, so take them all out and lay in a pattern so you can reverse the pieces for reassembly..

The variable pulley over the motor has come apart. how do I put it back together?

There is supposed to be a snap-ring with covering a cap with a spring that compresses the pulley and holds it together. Maybe one of those pieces has broken or is worn out. Most online repair parts places have an exploded diagram of all the parts and where they go so you can identify a replacement.

If you are talking of the clamshell cover, MANY plastic covers big and small have a few screws and then have molded "rods" on one side and a mating hole in a boss on the other. For these, one has to CAREFULLY pry them apart EVENLY so all seperate evenly..

How to disassemble a dewalt 14v battery

to take the battery apart you have to carefully cut it on the seam they are molded together. i am guessing you are hoping to replace the cells inside of it to repair the battery. I have done this a few times and can take quite a bit of patience and a good meter to figure out which ones are bad. make sure when you put it back together use some good qaulity abs cement so the battery does not come apart on you while using it.

I need to repair my fuel gauge, how do I take the dash apart?

Its all electronic, I'm guessing somehow the needle got flipped over the little black bar and you can't read the level anymore. To take the whole instrument panel out you need to first remove the molding that goes from side to side, it has the vents and blinker in it. Don't yank it out you have to remove the stubborn clips to the blinker and the instrument dimmer. There are just 2 screws at the top above the instrument cluster, the rest is clipped in. After then you will see there is 4- 6 little bolts holding the bezel in take those out and try to flip it over and pull the left side out first. Unhook the main harness and your good to go. Also it helps to put the steering wheel all the way down. Be careful putting the molding back in because once you break the clips it will wiggle and **** you off while driving, little squeaks :( . Hope this helps you out.

How do you take the dash apart to change the gauges?

Two screws hold the top of the molding in place, the rest of the molding that encompasses the air vents, hazard switch, and instrument dimmer use clips. There was 4 - 6 bolts that hold the instrument panel in place, after you take them out just unplug the harness and you can do what you want.

Mold

When you open the door note the differences in screws and around the hinge. There are 4 to 6 that hold the inner and outer panel together. the inner panel has the bubble window and the other the outer plastic. Once the screws are out the panels should pop apart, a slight edge holds them and if you want dis assemble the hinge too to make it easier.
