Here is a previous answer that might be of help.......
The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If it is still locked or goes into lock mode by itself, the "clear" key on your keypad may be shorting.
Here's how the child lock works on model FMV145:
Child Lock-Out
You may lock the control panel to prevent
the microwave from being accidentally
started or used by children.
To lock or unlock the controls, press and
hold CLEAR/OFF for about three
seconds. When the control panel is
locked, an "L" will be displayed to the
extreme right.
Manuals for some Thermador Microwaves are available here: http://www.thermador.com/trade/specifications-guides . Scroll down to Microwaves and select your model. Then press the link for Product Manuals and then choose the manual.
On the MBES and MBESLFTD, the child lock feature is unlocked by pressing Settings 5 2 (touch each pad/number once).
If you have a different Thermador microwave, I'll check my stack of manuals for the specifics. (On a few other brands, the child lock can be toggled by pressing and holding the Start key. One of my other microwaves has a small padlock on the key to indicate the correct key. With that toggle, press and hold the key for 3-4 seconds or longer.)
You may lock the control panel to prevent the microwave from being accidentally started or used by children.
To lock the control: press and hold the clear/off pad for about 3 seconds. The display will show "lock" and will then return to the time of day. A small "L" will be displayed to remind you that the control panel is locked. The display will show "lock" if anyone tries to use the microwave. On some models, you press and hold the "5" and "7" pads simultaneously for three seconds.
To unlock the control: press and hold the clear/off pad for about three seconds. Or on some models you press and hold the "5" and "7" simultaneously for three seconds
