Looking for a water pump that sends water to bathroom ,sinks, shower, etc

Single drop jet pumps are the best shallow well pumps. They feature one-way check valves to keep pumps primed. The pump sits above ground, drawing water through a single inlet pipe. Because the mechanics are straight-forward, they tend to need less maintenance.

Jet pumps, the most common pumps for shallow wells, are mounted above wells and draw water up with suction. The height the water can be lifted depends on the weight of the air. Although air pressure varies with elevation, jet-pump-operated shallow wells are commonly limited to 25 feet.

Jet pumps create pressure through the use of an impeller, or centrifugal pump. The impeller moves water — known as drive water — through a narrow orifice, or a jet, mounted in the housing in front of the impeller. Constriction of the jet causes the speed of moving water to increase. As water leaves the jet, a vacuum sucks additional water from the well. This additional pumped water combines with the drive water, discharging into the home at high pressure.

The process of drawing water with shallow well jet pumps uses water. This means the pumps need to be filled with water before they can work. One-way check valves are installed to keep the water from flowing back down the well

Why do jets turn on, then shut off?

the motor protection device is sensing to many amps. could be a flow restriction or the pump motor bearings are going bad.

Pump runs normally with no water but surges when filled with water

When there is a load on the motor and it is surging this is an indication of not enough water getting to the front of the pump.
Check the water flowing inside the tub going from the jet opposite the suction cover.
Sounds to me like you may be getting cavitation because the pump is pulling in too many air bubbles from the jet.
Close the air control and/or move the direction of the eyeball from pointing at the suction cover and see if that helps.

Kohler whirlpool type tub will not pump water out of its jets or take water into the intake. Pump appears to operate fine. Water does not want to move. Suggestions?

When a bath pump turns on but does not move any water it is usually because there is an Air Lock and needs to be released.Try this.
  • Fill the tub with water
  • Turn the pump on
  • Unthread the discharge pump union until water starts to squirt out
  • when this happens you should hear a big 'swoosh'

if the bath pump starts to discharge water through the jets then you have solved the problem.

I have a jacuzzi tub in my master bath, and it has started surging through the jets in about an 8 second interval. Also I have started noticing a little bit of water leaking from under the side of the tub....

Surging is caused when the pump doesn't have enough water to push to the jets. this is usually a problem caused by air being drawn into the suction of the pump.
take a look at the jet(s) facing the suction cover.
I have seen cases where the water with the air mixed in causing bubbles gets sucked into the suction of the tub and causes the surging because the pump is pulling in too much air.
try rotating the nozzle of the jet facing the suction away from it. point it another way. turn the air control knob closed and see if that is the problem.
the only other issue that could cause this 'surging' problem is a leak in the suction line and could be the source of the water you see under the tub.

I have a brand new walk-in tub with whirlpool and air jet. It has air switches for both features. My problem is that the air pump comes on all by itself after sitting for 20-30 minutes of non use. It does...

This is known as the purge cycle, it is very normal. It is to blow out any remaining water from the air jets. If it was to allow water to stand in the pipes, it would start to smell and grow algae, which would then clog the small air holes, nothing to be alarmed about.

Water coming out of adjustable air vent behind wall of tub

one or more of the jets are turned off. i would suspect someone is plugging the jets off which causes water to go backwards in the system and the water goes out the air controls. solution: check the jets to make sure the jet faces are turned on and/or tell someone to quit plugging off the jets when they are in the tub.

Cold air coming from jets in a large garden tub indoors

jets pull outside air in thru the water jet in a natural Venturi action. If you are referring to the air bubbles in a bathtub then, yes there are air blowers that have heaters inside them to warm the air before if goes into the tub.
