I have the same problem as noted elsewhere. I get the message "Scanner could not allocate required memory. Quit other application and try again" Nothing else is open. Can't get past it.
I have the same problem, scanning from Corel PhotoPaint 12, PhotoShop CS2 and now PhotoShop CS4, the latter after a HDD reformat and full install of software. The disk I am using for workspace has 339Gb space, so there really shouldn't be a problem. This only occurs when scanning transparencies - I can't even scan a 1 inch by 1.5 inch slide in 8 bit grey at 100%. Sounds like something to do with the transparency adapter itself. Lokos like Isghall have to revert to my behemoth Mustek A3 scanner.

1) Disconnect the scanner.
2) Run the installer from the original installation CD or downloaded driver. Choose Uninstall from the drop-down menu."
Reboot once completed.
3) Browse to the OSX Hard Disk. Browse to the Library\ApplicationSupport\TWAIN\TWAIN Data sources or Library\ApplicationSupport. Delete anything beginning with EPSON (files or folders).
4) Browse to Users\[Username]\Library\Preferences\EPSON. Delete anything beginning with EPSON (files or folders).
5) Browse to Library\Image Capture\Twain Data Sources. Delete any file relating to the scanner model only.
6) Browse to Library\Image Capture\Devices. Delete EPSON Scanner.
7) Browse to Applications\Utilities. Delete EPSON Scan Settings.
8) Browse to Applications. Delete EPSON Scan, EPSON Scanner Monitor (this process must be stopped first).
To stop the process browse to Applications\Utilities and open the Process Viewer (or Activity Monitor in OS10.3.x or above). Select the EPSON Scanner Monitor and from the Process menu, select Quit process.
Once you have completed the above you will need to restart the
computer. Once it has finished rebooting, empty the trash.
If you need to reinstall the software you can run through the standard installer from the original installation CD or the latest downloaded driver from our website.
Please log off and try this and reconnect to EPSON e-Talk if the problem persists.
