You have a laser that has gone out blue or green take the face off and see which of the colors you need you can still find lasers on ebay if you need one but it will require someone with a little expertise to replace them. if this is not for you then its time for a new TV this is probably the best option its more expensive to fix in most cases than to replace..........I hope this helps

Thomson colour tube is gone

If you had mentioned that the picture tube is defective and confirmed it is a serious fault. You can rejenuvate the picture tube with a gun tester and short remover. This is not a confirmed solution but you can take a last try. Changing the picture tube is not recommendable for an old set and I would like you to go for a new Tv which will work out cheaper and gauranteed.
Hope you decide sensibly. Good day

Thomson Scenium 52" backprojection tv, Does not start

try resodering the connections on the flyback. Its fairly comon for that model to have hairline cracks at the solder joints which will cause the symptoms youre describeing.

Thomson scenium rear projection tv

As you do not give any model number the answer will be of a general nature.
If it has 3 different crt tubes inside then the fault is with the convergance board or setting. this is not a job for the general public and should be looked at by a competant service engineer.
