You have a short circuit in the outside system. Either a bad compressor, bad fan motor or possibly a bad capacitor. Visually examine the capacitor. If it is bulged out anywhere, replace it. Check for burned wires on the capacitor and all other connections.
Remove the compressors wires from the circuit and restart the unit. If the fan runs the problem is in the compressor. If the fan does not run,the problem is with the fan motor.

On this unit you probably have to replace the fuse on the box that goes on to the wall

Trying to figure out where the fuse on our outside heating and cooling unit is because the unit won't kick on

Should be a disconnect box next to unit. Heating is you have a heat strip is more likely in the attic close to the unti

Where would the reset switch be located on a goodman ac unit

There shouldn't be a reset switch. The only units I've ever seen or heard of having a reset switch were old Rheem condenser, they had a high pressure switch that you could reset by pressing a red plastic button, but even Rheems no longer have them and I've never heard of Goodman using them.

What problem are you having with your A/C system? And why are you looking for a reset for it? Please repost your question and give us a bit more info so that we may help you with your probelm.

My goodman central air unit quit working after a storm. The circuit breaker is not blown. The furnace fan kicks on when ac is turned on at the thermostat but unit outside does not operate. Is there an...

1 posible cause.the thermostat supplies 24 volts to the outside unit to control the contactor if you hear a ligth huming on the outside unit this is the being activated. if this is the case then
check to see if any ants are in or around the unit see video, they will usually climb to dry areas before during or after a storm and for some reason they like the contactor if this is the case cut all power to the unit and clean contactor spray the area around the unit with an insecticide ( not the contactor) replace cover and test unit. Best of Luck. raypena_4.jpg

I have outside Goodman-Janitrol furnace and air unit and

two things to try first to get you pointed in the right direction. First disconnect the R or RH wire from the T-Stat. If the furnace turns off (Stops firing w/ fan to turn offabout 90 sec. later) then you more than likely have a bad Thermistat. If it continues to run Pull the R wire from the Furnace circuit board. put door back on furnace if it stops you have a short in the wire. Still Running? Most likely a bad curcuit board. Hope this helps.

Goodman outside unit not kicking on after power outage

If the outside fan works ,try to put a booster cap. in parallel with the capacitor , but if nothing works check the outside power supply box (or discennect) to see if a fuse is blown.

Goodman air handlers (inside unit) fan have a delay timer that turn on the fan ,sometimes up to 3 minutes after the outside unit is on,this makes the a/c more efficiency.

Check for burned wires at the outside unit and if the fan doesn't work could be the capacitor or the fan motor itself , i would try replacing the capacitor first is no more than $25.

Goodman heatpump. Crazy pressure in heat mode

Check the TXV valve on the outdoor unit, it could be stuck closed. We have been experiencing the same problems with the 410 systems and the TXV was the culprit. Good Luck
