You can force a restart. Press "Sleep/Wake" button and "Home" button at the same time to power off your iPhone, then turn on your iPhone again.

Did you try to reset the phone by pressing the power button and home key?

My IPad is stuck with the apple logo on a black screen while resetting to factory settings. No more movement now. What to do?

Don't forget to plug in the power. And again, press home button and on / off switch, till it switches off. Then press the on / off button, till the Apple logo comes back, then release the button. It can take up to a minute, before the screen comes on.

I can't switch on my Iphone 4

  1. Hold the Power and Home button together for 10-15 seconds. Let go of both.
  2. Just hold the Power button for a few seconds to see the Apple logo.

And doing the following fixed this issue for good.

  • Go to Settings -> Reset -> Reset All Settings. (This will reset your Settings to factory default but will not delete App data or media).
  • Or as a last ditch effort before taking it to the Apple Store, try restoring your iPhone 4 to factory default by doing a Factory Restore from iTunes. (I didn't have to do this - remember you will lose all your App settings, game highscores, etc.)

My iphone screen is stuck. I am in the "phone" area and would like to make a call. But, it is stuck on the list of recent calls, and only gives me the option to "Clear all Recents" or...

Do a soft reset Hold down the 'home' and 'power' buttons simultaneously till the screen goes black and you see the apple logo again ... that should fix it .
Hope I helped :)

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond
  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

if you have an Apple logo stuck on the screen) try the following sequence of steps:

  • Hold down Select / Menu (to reboot the iPod)
  • As soon as the Apple logo appears, hold down Rewind / Select until...
  • ...you see a backwards Apple Logo.
  • At this point, you will have entered Diagnostic Mode. It'll test the RAM, and then tell you to HIT PLAY TO CONTINUE. Hit 'Play'.
  • You'll be in a menu that you advance by hitting FF (Fast Forward). Advance to the 'DISKMODE' entry.
  • Hit 'Select.' This will put you into Firewire Disk mode. The screen should change to the familiar 'Do Not Disconnect' mode. At this point, connect it to the computer.
  • Run the restore utility; it should now recognize the iPod and offer to Restore the factory software. Do so. You'll lose whatever's on it, but you'll avoid having to send it back in to Apple and pay them $49 or whatever to do basically the same thing. :-)
