1. When walking on the treadmill the belt abruptly stops.
2. As the speed increases so does the noise. Is this associated with the belt tension? Tightening the belt causes the belt not to move at all. What might be the solution to 1 & 2?

The
manual should point out specifics but this is usually a message that is
generated by the miles on the mill. Most important maintenance on a
treadmill is keeping belt lubed. We also vac under the hood( motor area)
to get out dust, lent and debris. and lube elevation mech. Check owners
manual for type of belt lubricant.
Test with this procedure: press and hold for 4 to 6 seconds: UP on the Speed and Incline. Running again.
