The next time it gongs multiple times turn the hour hand clockwise until it is pointing at the number of times it gonged. Next take off the dial nut off (make sure to put it in a plastic bag because they can be hard to replace) and turn the minute hand until it strikes once. Now put the minute hand back on pointing to 6 o'clock and replace your dial nut and you are all set.

Warmink old clock Nu Elck Syn Sin.

Yes if you remove the weight in the chiming mechanism, it won't chime.

I Googled, but most answers are in Dutch because it is a Dutch clock.

My clock chimes out of secrence quarter past then hour chime is quarter to hour? how can i fix please

Sounds like the minute hand is a quarter hour off. Make the clock strike on an hour. Count the number of times it strikes, then remove the minute (long) hand, and the hour hand. Replace the hour (short) hand to the number that the clock struck, and tighten by pressing hour hand in toward the dial, then replace the minute hand in the position that it's pointing at the twelve. Now it should be showing the time that it struck. To make sure, advance the minute hand to the half hour, and let it strike the half. Advance it to the next hour, and it should strike the correct time that is showing on the clock. For example, if the clock strikes four, and is showing three, then move the hour hand to the four while the minute hand is pointed at the twelve, then press the hour hand on each side of the center shaft towards the dial to tighten it. Now advance to half hour, and let strike, then advance to the next hour. It should strike the correct hour. I hope this helps more than confuses. Good Luck

Howard Miller Christopher Quartz mantel clock chime adjustment

Try pulling the batteries out, set the clock to 5:45 then put the batteries back in. Set the time to 6:00 and count how many times it strikes. If it strikes 6 then your good. If it strikes a different number say 5, take the batteries back out, and set the clock to 4:45 then put the batteries back it, set clock to 5 and count the strike. Most quartz clocks reset their chimes to 5:00 when new batteries are installed regardless of the time shown on the face. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

It's a 3 key chime and strike clock that chimes every 15 min and strikes hours. for last one month it doesn't chime at 12, 3, 6, and 9 position and the hour strike is not synchronous with min hand

More than likely, there are springs that activate the levers for it to chime, or bong, they may have got jammed up, you can open it up, and see if you see anything like that, if not, you will have to take it to your local jewelry store, or watch/clock makers to have them take a look. You never indicated what type of clock (make or model) so I can\'t be certain. Maybe a ships clock? They may want to charge you for a overhaul of the movement, but you can tell them to just "make it work" if it was running fine before (keeping time well) then an overhaul probably isn\'t necessary. It sounds like something may have got jammed.
I hope this helps !

My clock chies 2 hours behind

If the clock is a mechanical clock there are 2 ways it can be fixed. You need to take the hands off the clock and gently replace the hour hand to the hour it strikes/chimes replace the minute hand and then gently clockwise ONLY move the minute hand to each hour letting it strike/chime the hour it is on. If this does not work there is another way and you can email me Yvonne. [email protected] for more information. Mechanical clocks only.

I have an antique clock that requires two places to wind it up. Since Daylight Savings Time went into effect, the clock has gone crazy, chiming the hour on the half hour and chiming three hours ahead. What...

With only limited information provided about your type of actual antique clock this symptom has to conclude that your clock is a non self correcting style.

Step one: Ensure clock is striking the hour. during the time of the hour strike quickly move the minute hand to the hour.

Step two: Move to the half hour allow to strike, move hand to hour allow to strike then move the hour hand to align with the correct count.

Step three: Stop the clock until the correct time has been achieved and start clock OR strike ever hour and half hour until clock is set to the correct time.

Hope this tip guides you to a solution for your clock.

Need setting instructions for clock movement

Howard Miller offers this feature: This is how it works.

Automatic Night-Time Silencing Option
Grandfather Clocks will offer a night time shutoff option. There are 3 options on this lever.
1) "Night On" - This will keep the chime striking 24 hours
2) "Night Off" - This position will turn off the chiming between 10:15PM and 7:00AM
3) "Strike" - This position will allow the movement to strike the hour without the Westminster melody if the other Westminster melody lever is turned to Silent.

Hope this helps.

Pendulum Clock Strikes Wrong Number of Times At the top of hour

it almost sounds like the hour hand is pointing 180 degrees off, and if it was removed and flipped things would be good again. does it chime 2x when it's 8:00? and 3 when it's 9? that would confirm to me it needs to be pointed the other direction, then adjust the actual time.

Whitting and Westminster Jean luis Electronic clock

I found my own solution through trial and error. I set the dials to 12 00 and then move the dials to show just over 5 minuites to 12 ( 1155) the alarm melody start and chimes for a number ( in may case it was one.) then i moved the dial back to 1200 and then reset it again to 1155 or just over. Each time the alarm chimes an increasing number
I had the clock chime settings on the back of the clock to the middle setting (chimes on 24 hours)
I carried out this until the chime was right for the time i was working ( in my case it was 1730) so when it reached 5 chines I then set proper time and left it. The next chime was correct
