Mtx 895 trouble

I have an 895 thunder mtx amp hooked up to 2 12" kicker comps. i got this amp, installed it with the subs out of the box, and it worked fine. i took it out, and put my subs in a box, and re installed them in my car. now theres no noise, but the light on the amp turns on. ive checked all the wires in the subs, makein sure there hooked up right. any suggestions?

i took mine apart and it appears that 1 (or 2) of the transistors on the "bottom" (if holding it so you could read the lettering) popped. I don't think there is any way to repair it unless you can find another one that you can salvage them from... good luck

Check your fuse up front first. some amps will turn the light on with only the remote wire (the 12 volt signal from the head unit). That may be your issue. If not you need to check your signal input. try hooking the rca's to a diffrent source, i.e. other radio your tv anything with Rca out put. If still you get nothing then pull your subs out and take a regular 9 volt battery and touch the leads to the positive and negative of the sub. Just for a moment though if the subs move when they come in contact with the charge from the battery then my last suggestion would be to take it to a store where you can have an authorized tech check out the equiptment. Good luck

I have 2 different subs in one box, a 12" MTX thunder and a 12" Kicker CVR. the kicker is a dual voice coil while the MTX I dont believe is. Can I use one amp for this set up? And how would it be wired?

im guessing both speakers are 4 ohms ..mtx 4ohms and kicker dual 4ohms..now if your amp can go down to 1 ohm wiring the kicker dual coils in parallel (2ohms) and the mtx connected together (4ohms) should leave you with a final impedance between 1 and 2 ohms ...i suggest you use one or get another

Can you bridge 2 4 ohm kicker speakers to a mtx thunder 7801 amp?

Ya. Just hook one sub to your amp (bridged) and hook the other sub (positive and negative) to the first subs positive and negative

How do i wire a 8 ohm kicker comp 10" sub inside the box? and what is the best way to get more bump with a 600 w mtx amp and kicker comp 10" sub?

Ok, for an 8 Ohm sub, it is advisable to get another 8 Ohm sub. wire them in parallel down to a 4 Ohm load. You would wire both + wires together, and both - wires together to yield a 4 Ohm load at the amp. Majority of the amplifiers on the market are designed to give more power at a lower impedence, or Ohm load. You just have to make sure that your amp will take a 4 Ohm load. Without knowing the model of the MTX amp, I can't give more advise. However, this should be able to give you and idea of where to start. The main problem is that you have a single 8 Ohm sub in the Kicker Comp.

2 MTX Thunder Problem.. Bridging?

Is there a option on the chanels that say ''Bridged''? If so, you can hook the subs up in parellel or series to get different ohm loads. Usually the lower ohms, the more power amp puts out. Those subs can handle 225 watts RMS whitch means the power it can handle constantly. If the amp gives more than 225 watts RMs, you could be at risk of blowing the sub. If you could give me the model # of the amp, I can be of more help.

1501d,, What subs should i use/

I would stick with Kicker or MTX. The best place in my mind to get them is soncelectronix.com
Just try to mach the specs as close as possible. Make sure to look at the recommendations of the subs for the size of the box and the port volume.

Kickers dont beat like they should

try to check and clean the wiring as clean as possible to avoid messing up on your connection. Check the polarity of you subs to yuor amp if you have it connected on the outher way around it would not give you a good result. check the polarity this will solve your problem. Over powering your sub will fry it easily try to tune it a 10" sub wont give you a 15" performance..

Subs dont beat like they should

you've spent alot of money on **** by the sounds of it!!. you should only ever run multiple subs the same brand, power and resistance you can just connect any old subs to a system you need to wire them depending on the load that the amp needs to see. first thing is to try the amp/s on a individual sub to check your amps still work once done check the subs 1 by 1.

THUNDER 5601 WHEN VEHICLE TURNED ON, SUBS BOOM, THEN WORKS OK. ALSO WHEN RADIO TURNED OFF

If the amp produces no boom with no signal input cables connected, I'd suggest using an LOC.
