In other words, for the Leviton 5G108 jack, option 1 above is marked as "B", the other option is marked "A".

Hi,

wiring can be done in only two ways (standard)

if the jack is being connected with the switch you have to follow the below given color code.

1st orangewhite
orange
greenwhite
blue
blue white
green
brownwhite
bown

if you need to connect two same type of devices swap 1 st with 3rd and 2nd with sixth ( color code)

How do i terminate a panuit data jack 568A configuration

I haven't used Panduit specifically, but on almost every jack (leviton, on Q, ortronics) it actually shows the color codes on the side or bottom of the jack. They are usually marked for both A and B, so make sure you go by the color code marked A. Strip your cat 5, use an impact tool to punch the colored wires into the corresponding slots on the jack.

I have a black and white wire to hook to. leviton has black, blue and white. green also but thats a ground. what do i do with the blue wire? this is a single switch to a gfci then to outside lighting....

The blue wire is the switched hot wire coming from the leviton.
So:
black hot/source to black leviton -- blue leviton to black for light fixture or black "line" on GFI -- all whites connected together.

Charlie

P.S. If the GFI is only powering a light fixture, it is not needed.

I just want to know how to arrange color for cross over cable

Here's a web page that shows you the color arrangement for a crossover:
http://www.littlewhitedog.com/content-8.html
The same info will apply to jacks.
Also, adapters are available to do the crossover for you, no need for wiring:

Wiring cat 5 jack

If you're doing both ends, it doesn't matter. I tend to use "B" because if the other end is a patch panel, it natively (ie all wires in order) comes as a "B" panel. Less thinking on my part :-)

Dont know how to hook up cat5e cable to a leviton cat5e jack

Those two jacks are telephone jacks (RJ-11) not ethernet (RJ-45). The jack marked telephone is for a phone, and the jack with a rectangle symbol is for the telephone line into the wall.

You need to buy an ethernet PCI card - without one you can not use a cat5e line (which has an RJ45 connection).

Configuring DSL for All RJ-45 Jacks

the simpliest way is to have a wireless/ wired 4 ports router and install it beside your modem and locate where your Cat 5 cables central end is. Identify the Cat 5s that are connected to the 5 locations of your PCs if all of them are not capable of wireless connection you need to add a switch (4 port or 8 port) which you also need to connect to one Lan port of your router.

Hope this helps.
