Hi, my mother has a Schott Ceran induction hob. It's very good but occasionally randomly locks itself and we cannot find a manual to tell us how to unlock it or locate the model number.

Am I able to post a photo of it here to see if anyone recognises it or knows how to unlock it?

The reference to Schott is the maker of the ceramic glass. The label identifying which brand and model number will be located on the base of the cooktop.

If the cooktop itself randomly locks itself, it would most likely be related to the touch panel and the sensor plate that would require replacement.

The lock would be the child lock, and usually holding down the key symbols for a period of 5 secs should remove the lock.

Very specialised high tech tops need engineers to fix. It is likely to be the power board.

Schott Ceran Hob. Please could you let me know what knobs I can buy for it? Thank you.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Schott Ceran category.

Replacement knobs, but it should go by the numerical model number in the search query as well.

I have a Bosch Schott Ceran Induction Hob model number ********** and need the manual. Where do I get one please

Try to do a search on the Internet, something like: Manual Bosch + your model number. I have usually had good luck finding a free download. Sometimes there are downloads also available directly on the manufacturer's website as well.

Whirlpool schott ceran induction plate doesn't get hot

magnetic gradeI have a SCHOTT Ceran glass ceramic cooktop as well, and soon realized that induction cooktops like this require that your metal cookware be in contact with the surface for them to heat up. Best cookware:
  • Cast iron pans
  • Any black metal pans
  • Stainless steel pans, if base is magnetic grade (magnet sticks to bottom)

My miele induction schott ceran is being locked, and I can not open it to cook??

Hi,

If you have an illuminated red key symbol on the cooktop, press down where the illuminated red key is, for about 5 seconds. This method works on many Schott Ceran / Miele cooktops including the KM443 listed above.

If this doesn't work, please let me know the correct model number.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

Whirlpool Oven, Ceran stove top

I want to say that since I posted my original problem with black spots appearing on the Schott Ceran top, I took pictures of the top and attached them to a complaint sent to Maytag. Approximately 3 days later, a Maytag representative phoned and offered a brand new top-basically stating that there is a fault with the tops. They would not pay for the labor to replace the top. My husband downloaded the instructions from Maytag website and installed it himself. These spots actually appear from within the surface and are not the result of a boil over, etc. The spots on my burner grew to the width of the burner. If you search the internet, you will see many others with the same problem with the Schott Ceran tops. I will never buy another!
