Armacost ribbon lights are lit for 2 days, then die. Why???????

I stalled 5 sections of armacost ribbon lights (about 14ft of lights and a total run of 25ft). The first three sections are fine. My fourth section lit for 2 days, then died. Since I have used 3 different connectors and soldered it twice. It will light but then burns out an hour or more later. Why???????

There is a short in that string. Finding it will be tough but can be done with a meter checking every light in the chain until you find the loss point.

Testimonial: "Thanks. I spoke to Armacost today and they basically said the same. Great company to work with. They are sending out a new 8' spool of ribbons lights to replace the bad stretch."

98 VW Died on Hot Day (30 degrees Celsius, 86 Fahrenheit)

  1. Check the ignition switch condition and operation. The electrical contacts in the run position may be worn or damaged. Try restarting the engine with all electrical accessories in the off position. Sometimes turning the key on an off will help in emergency situations, however once the switch has shown signs of failure, it should be replaced as soon as possible.
  2. Check for loose, corroded, damaged or shorted wires for the ignition system and repair or replace.
  3. Check for manifold vacuum leaks or vacuum hose leakage and repair or replace parts as necessary.
  4. Measure the fuel pump delivery volume and pressure. Low fuel pump pressure can also be noticed as a lack of power when accelerating. Make sure the fuel pump lines are not restricted. The fuel pump output is not adjustable and requires fuel pump replacement to repair.
  5. Check the engine fuel and ignition management system. Inspect the sensor wiring and electrical connectors. A dirty, loose or damaged sensor or control module wire can simulate a failed component.
  6. Check the exhaust system for internal restrictions.

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you got your car running 100% again soon and please rate.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Stalls out, engine quits running

since its a 1997 your jeep has EFI, electronic fuel injection. The most probable reason for your troubles would be the injectors or a problem with the computer controling them, not allowing enough gas to be pushed into the cylinder causing stalling or lack of power, also too much gas iin the cylinder can lead to back firing and stalling. This would also explain the reason it takes so long to start back up some times, all the excess gas in the cylinder is flooding the motor and u have to wait till the gas disipates till the engine will turn over.
