My NordicTrack x9i will not recognize the magnetic safety key - it was working fine and now nothing? any ideas?

Apparently the key is magnetic, so perhaps you had a magnetic event? Having said that, it shouldn't run unless switched on. Better to turn off at the mains when not in use.

the SAFETY key attaches to the console of the treadmill usually by a magnet and is linked to the users clothing so if they fall they pull the safety key off and the treadmill automatically stops. The treadmill will not work without the safety key in place

Do you have another magnetic object around it? That may cause the treadmill to work without the safety key.

Have you connected the tablet to the internet via WiFi? As I am reading on your treadmill it has the ability to connect to internet and that maybe what it is looking for, so it can update itsself.

Can you delete the program that didn't complete?

You should immediately replace the console. That console will just keep getting worse. This is endemic of this brand, however it usually happens a lot further in the life of the unit. When you call Nordictrack have your model number.

1) test the receptacle wall, plug a desklamp for to see if work if is working go
2( testing the power cord for open or defective.
3) reset the machine
4) test the fuse for blown and replace
5) test the c.breaker for tripped and reset again.
6) test the key, the key is small magnet, you can test with your magnet refrigerator with atraction or repulse, if doesnot replace the magnet from home depot.

do you hear the motor running but the belt is not? if it is the belt need tightened or the drive belt may have broken. remove the motor hood to inspect

Hello there, The machine is attempting to do an incline calibration. Keep the unit lowered as you have it, reinstall the safety key, allow the unit to go all the way to the top and then all the way to the bottom. The machine will stop when at the bottom and the screen will go back to normal. The machine will not overtravel the incline motor and damage it. Just let the calibration finish the procedure and you will be fine.
