Viewing Fault and Alert Messages on the Control Panel
When a fault or alert condition occurs, a message will be displayed on the Control Panel to inform you of the problem. Alert messages inform you about printer conditions, such as low supplies or open doors, that require your attention. Fault messages warn you about printer conditions that prevent the printer from printing or degrade printing performance. If more than one condition occurs, only one displays on the Control Panel.
To view a complete list of active fault and alert messages:

1. Press the [Machine Status] button on the Control Panel.
2. Select the [Active Messages] tab.
3. Use the Down arrow and select [Faults], [Alerts], or [Faults & Alerts].

Viewing the Fault History on the Control Panel
When faults occur, they are logged in to a fault history file by date, time, and fault code. Use this list to identify trends and resolve problems.
To view the fault history:

3. Select [Fault History]. The screen displays the number, date, time, and image count for each fault code.

If the courtesy lights on the motor unit aren't turning on, there may be no power getting to the machine, or there may be a fault in the control board. If the opener is getting mains power, I would suggest calling a Hormann dealer.

F-11 error code is a communication error between the main control and the motor control. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the access panels. Then check the electrical connections on the main and motor control boards. After the connections are checked, replace the panels and check the operation. I have added the information on the Fdl error code because it is usually associated with the F11 code.

The FdL fault code indicates that you have a problem with the door lock assembly. This is often caused by a failed door lock but it can also be caused by a failed wiring harness connection or in some instances by a failed control board.

Check for damage to the door hook on the washer door and look for anything that could be clogging the catch on the door lock assembly on the front panel of the washer.
You may need to check the wire harness connections on the door lock assembly. The images below show the procedure for accessing the door lock assembly on this type of washer. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

I have seen the failure be caused by a door lock and a faulty machine control board. A little trick I have found is to remove the top of the washer and push down lightly on the connector that is labeled dls5 this connector should have four black wires. This connector is located on the machine control board under the top. Use an insulated screwdriver to push on the connector and start a cycle. If the door locks and the washer works, I recommend replacing the machine control. It has a bad solder joint on the board. We often see error code F11 also with bad solder joints on the control board. If pushing on the connector did not make a difference, I would suspect a faulty door lock first.

A couple of things can cause a Code 11(Ignition Failure): The gas line at the heater is not turned On or not turned on all the way. Also an obstruction in the Direct Vent Termination.

According to the Owner's Manual:
If the appliance fails to ignite, the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, 11, will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. If ignition fails again, then the fault code will remain and another attempt to ignite will occur in 1 hour. The fault code is not stored in the fault code history.

If the flame is extinguished during forced combustion then the appliance will attempt ignition after 1 hour. The "Ignition Failure" fault code, 11, will appear during that hour and disappears after a successful ignition. Forced combustion takes place for about 15 seconds after ignition. After this time, the temperature control logic controls the combustion.

If the flame is extinguished (burner combustion failure) while the temperature control logic is operating the appliance, then the appliance will immediately attempt ignition. No fault code will appear.

If the problem was not either of the 2 listed above, the electronics may need to be reset. You can do this by turning the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the cord from the wall outlet. Leave the unit unplugged for 15 minutes, then plug it back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. The electronics should revert back to the original factory settings. From there you can set them as you like. If the reset attempt fails, a service call by an authorized service technician is the next step.
