SOURCE: washes clothes fine, drying cycle no heat

Hi, we had the same problem with a WD420P. After a washing machine repair man plugged in the diagnostic machine and found that there was no fault, my boyfriend had a look. The nut securing the cooling fan inside the heater element was not tight so the heater overheated and tripped it's stat. This was a 5 month old part fitted after the original was replaced under warranty.

SOURCE: My WVF 2402 washer/dryer washes clothes ok but doesn't dry them.

Sorry I'm way late with this but I've only just noticed it. Unplug the machine from the mains! Remove the lid (with a torx screwdriver) and you'll notice a small circular device with 2 leads attached on the top of the machine, in the centre there's a small button, press it and it should click......you've fixed it This is a thermal cutout safety device designed to switch the drying heater off if it becomes too hot. The probable cause for this is that you've over filled the machine and the air didn't circulate freely. as a rule of thumb, dry 1/2 as many clothes as you wash.

SOURCE: Washer-dryer # wm3677HW will not dry, heats up, run, on and on

You're a moron. This unit washes and dries. That's the whole point of it. Perhaps you should do some research before answering the question. the most likely cause is the water lever sensor.

How do I dry only

When using the WD-1000 as a Dryer only, are you turning the rightmost knob Clockwise to the correct starting point?
Looking at the periphery of the knob, at the bottom, see the elongated "sausage" shape, outlined in blue? Turn the knob so it passes "Stop", and points there.
At the end of a completed Wash Cycle, that is where the pointer will be pointing. Once there, the machine switches automatically to Dryer Mode.
As long as the middle dial is set to a timer length greater than zero, the drying begins. I recommend turning the middle dial to somewhere around 2:00 o'clock, which corresponds to about 90 minutes if I remember correctly.
(You'll notice that is in the "Orange" area, meaning Full Heat - which is always fine because it never gets too hot anyway)

So, turn right dial to point to the "white sausage" at the bottom of the dial; Turn middle dial to 90 mins, or so; (Left dial only controls "Spin" speed - just set to max); and close the door. (It should begin drying)

How do you dry on this machine? if you dry on the green, does it completely dry?

The automatic preheat and drying cycle kicks in as the final wash spin is under- way. The system employs a condenser dryer in which the hot air used to dry the clothes is channeled into a drum, instead of being released into the great outdoors via a dry vent hose. Cold water is drawn into the drum at the same time. The two mix, and the result is a condensing process.

The chlothes should be dry. there may be a damp feeling to them but otherwise dry. If your machine is not drying then the element could be going bad, or a thermal cutoff. those would be the easyiest fixes.

The BIG drawback is drying. It takes about 90 minutes to dry a load, and the clothes come out very wrinkled. Because the drum is so small, the clothes don't 'toss' in heated air and don't fluff at all. Clothes also come out stiffer than a regular dryer.

The automatic delicate drying cycle does not dry

The delicate cycle is for damp, not wet delicate items. It is more warm air then hot and will not dry wet items forsay. If you have delicate items that need more drying try putting them inside a pillow case and tying the end closed long with a higher setting. Works great with stuffed toys too

Dryer does not work drum rotates but does not dry on hotpoint aquarius washer dryer model wd64. all other functions operate ok

Probably open circuit heater element, or thermostat/s
Remove top cover, and you will see the heater manifold on the top of the drum.
It is a long aluminium box.
The element and stats are located here..
You will need a meter to test the appropiate components for continuity.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

The dryer does not dry

time to clean the lint filter and the exhaust pipe (the large, white flexible hose) which could be filled w/ lint
