SOURCE: circuit diagram of 1400 watt woofer amplifier
www.the12volt.com/ subwoofer wiring diagrams and then find out what ohm of sub u have and how many voice coils and what ohm your amp is stable at.
SOURCE: i have a pyramid pb 880 1000 watt 4 channel amp
it is more than likely that your rca outputs are bad
SOURCE: the protection light on my pyramid 1600 watt 2
It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be your output drivers- the MOSFETS/IC's fitted for both the channels, Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise like a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation.
You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board, maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias , maybe a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the protect is off then check for short on the speakers.
SOURCE: What would be the best settings on a pyramid
Your sub is a 4ohm woofer, running it in bridged mode + on right connection - on left connect as market on sub will give the best output. Your sub is rated at 75w to 300w and in this configuration will be getting just over 100w which about all the amp can provide with your sub/amp combo.
I don't know where they get the 1000w rating from either? the maximum the amp can possibly provide is 150w if running a 2ohm woofer in bridged mode.
SOURCE: I have a Pyramid 403G, no wiring diagram
I have the manual for the Pyramid 403G 7 band Graphic Equalizer. The wires To your radio: Green/white left negative Green left positive To your radio: Gray/white right negative Gray right positive Red with fuse to ignition power Black Ground Left Rear speakers: Blue rear left negative Blue/black left positive Left Front speakers: White/black left front positive White left front negative Right Rear speakers: Brown/black right rear positive Brown right rear negative Right Front speaker: Yellow/black right front positive Yellow right front
the wires are marked exactly the opposite of what all know as standard. According to the manual the wires marked with the black are positive, it threw me since I have been wiring for the last 25 years. If you make the mistake of wiring it like you wire everything else it will not have any power and act odd, I made that mistake.
