I checked the instruction manual available for the Janome 8002D serger through the Janome website:

and did not find a date of printing on the manual (which would give an idea for the year/s the model was manufactured.)

I also found the following information on one of the Janome web pages:

if it's out of alignment then it will have to be fixed at a sewing machine repair shop

Try www.sewingpartsonline.com and put in Janome then your model number, they have all kinds of parts for sale. They may have your part or call Janome at 1-800-631-0183

If the fitting on the plug is the same as your machine it should be okay but check with your machine shop to be sure.
