Hi First remove the battery and run only on the adapter... If it works fine then there is no problem with adapter...... Charge the battery continuously for 4 hours without seeing the percentage of charging and remove the adapter..... If the laptop runs on battery for 45 mins then it might be the problem with drivers..... Go to device manager and reinstall the drivers if it is less than 45 mins.... Reinstall the drivers either ways...... If still the problem persists.... Go to HP.com and and select software and driver downloads and give the product number.... select the OS... Select HP battery check.... Download the file (sp32299.exe) and click save.... Save file onto the desktop and close the site..... Run the exe file.... If it passes the battery is fine... If fails replace the battery.... The steps might be longer..... But i can assure that it will work

get them to have it checked in their repair shop and tell them its not the battery
SOURCE: won't hold charge, works when plugged in. replaced
I would suspect a defective replacement battery.

Check the voltage at the pins of the adapter. If present accordingg to the specifications then connect to the laptop and remove the battery from behind. Now check the voltage at the battery terminal of the laptop. if there is low or no voltage to the desired level then there are problems within the main board as this insufficient voltage will not charge the battery makeing it go down below level.

Hi:
Acer chargers have a very short life time, in the past 2 years I had bought 2. Just buy a new one from amazon they're very inexpensive. Here's the link:
