Using compressed air or spraying cleaner under pressure into carburetor ports may displace welch plugs requiring carburetor repair/replacement.

SOURCE: Just bought a used leaf blower, homelite, gas leaks out of the gas tank, where the gas tube fits into it.

"top of the gas tank where the gas tube fits into the tank"

I assume you're describing the gas tank cap. if so, the o-ring is missing from the gas tank cap. You can find those at hardware stores.

SOURCE: How do I adjust needle valves on a 25cc Homelite

Set the lowend & highend needles to about 1 3/4 to 2 turns each. Choke the carb or prime it, until the carb is wet. Fire up the engine and let it warm up. Let's set the topend first since it's the easier of the two. Go to full throttle. Adjust the topend needle for peak RPM. Leave it wide open for about a minute to see if it changes any. Should the engine go lean, open the lowend needle slightly, if this dosen't work... you will have to adjust the needle valve inside the carb.( I will explain this later) If the topend runs OK, then slowly pull the throttle down until the engine begins to "four cycle" hold the throttle there. Adjust the lowend needle until the "four cycling" barely stops. Now lower the throttle more until it "four cycles" again, and adjust the lowend again. Keep doing this until you reach full idle. Now, from full idle begin to throttle up until the engine starts to bog or hesitate. Open up the lowend needle just enough to eliminate the bog or hesitation.

SOURCE: My Homelite backpack leaf blower only idles. when

Is the new gas some you just mixed up from the gas station or is from the can in the garage? If it is indeed fresh then you are looking at needing the carburetor adjusted. Sorry you can not do it yourself, The epa only allows qualified technician to adjust them. Plus the tool to do so are not available to the general public.

SOURCE: bogs down at full thouldel tryed to adjust carberator

Hi
This is either a clogged muffler or carb. Take the off and see if it will rev. If not you need to clean carb and install a carb repair kit. Do not run long with muffler off.

I have a Homelite BackPacker leaf blower. It runs fine until the gas tank is about half empty. Then it sputters. While it's running, I can remove gas cap and replace and it runs fine again for a little...

Great job with the description of the symptoms. What you are describing is a classic case of vapor-lock. In other words, a vacuum is forming in the fuel tank and not allowing the fuel to flow to the carburetor.

Look at the cap, it probably has a small vent built into it. With a little compressed air, blowing from the outside in, try to clear the obstruction. This may not work, but don't worry. Just replace the fuel cap. Your local lawnmower repair shop can probably get a new cap for you. Otherwise, go to www.homelite.com click on the parts tab, enter your model number (starts with a "UT") and order a new one.

Good luck!

Is it possible to replace a primer bulb on a homelite blower?

The bulb repair kit can be purchased a home depot or lowes, or whatever is close to your home. These can be replaced fairly easy. It is usually prongs on the backside that hold the bulb in. After pressing these the bulb will come out of the housing and disconnect the tubing from the bulb. It a good idea to replace tubing when doing this, the tubing is rotted or dried out and eventually cracks. Keep in mind where the tubing goes. One will feed from the gas tank and the other will feed the carb.
