Does a Roku Stick Work on Any TV? The Roku Streaming Stick 4K is designed to be compatible with any TV that has an HDMI port. This means it will work on both smart and non-smart TVs, as long as they have an HDMI connection.
If your TV is analog, don't worry! You can still use the Roku Streaming Stick 4K by using an AV Composite Converter. This will allow you to enjoy all the features of the Roku Streaming Stick on your TV.

All Roku streaming players will work for any television with an HDMI connection, so any Roku player can be connected to a 4K UHD or HDR-compatible television. However, to stream movies and TV shows in 4K UHD or HDR you will need a compatible Roku streaming player and television that supports 4K UHD or HDR.

Codes to upgrade hisense40h3e to a smart tv

There is no code to turn the Hisense 40H3E into a smart TV. This TV doesn't have the network LAN or WI-FI hardware or software. You can only add network streaming by connecting a streaming stick (Roku, Fire, etc.), streaming box (similar items) or use a computer. Most streaming devices connect to the HDMI port; you may need an HDMI switch to share the TV with multiple devices.

Note: the USB port on this TV may not supply sufficient power for some streaming devices. You may need to connect them to an USB power supply to a standard outlet.

I hope this helps.

(the 40H3E does support viewing files from a USB flash drive - see the manual for the list. I found the manual on Manuals Lib here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1053975/Hisense-40h3e.html . )

I can not find an HDM1 port on my Sharp TV. Can I use the USB Port?

No, the HDMI plug will not fit into a USB port. (It's the wrong shape and the pins are different.) The micro-USB port can be connected to some USB ports for power, not data, with the appropriate cable (micro USB to type A). (Without the model of your Sharp TV, I do not know if the USB port has the right specifications. Some older TVs only have a "service port" which doesn't always provide enough power.)

There are HDMI to component video/audio converters that may work. They do not always work with copy protected (HDCP) content. See http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/770115-REG/KanexPro_HDRGBRL_HDMI_to_Component_Converter.html for one example. (Composite video is not recommended since that will downgrade the signal to 480i. Component video supports 1080p signals.)

If you have 1 HDMI port, then a multi-port HDMI switch may work. Note: automatic switches often do not switch on their own with some sources. If the source never actually turns off, like some set-top boxes, you'll need to switch the unit manually.

I hope this helps.

What special equipment do I need to watch Netflix

All you need is a computer and a connection to the internet and you can watch it directly on Netflix.com. In addition you can download the free Netflix app onto your smart TV, game console, streaming player, phone or tablet.
If what you are really asking is how do you watch it on your digital TV (not smart TV) then you will need a wireless home network and a streaming internet player such as Amazon Stick, Roku or Chromecast. Your digital TV will need an HDMI input connection. Most players are also powered through a USB port so it would be helpful to have a USB port on the TV but it can be powered with a transformer at a normal AC plugin.
