Have you run a fault code test on the system? If not do so and see what shows up.

    What would make it be my computer when it was fine before?? All I did was change oil sensor and move harness over the screw back in two grounds... Do u think I really fried my pcm by doing this?

    Check the PCM power fuse under the hood. I never said the PCM was "fried"

Recently bought a jeep grand cherokee laredo 1994, it had been sitting for a year or so. When we got it started it is tapping a little, smoking alot, and gauge is showing zero oil pressure. I'm af

If it is a 4.0 strait six cylinder this is a common problem on them.Mine was located just below the oil filter and is pretty easy to fix.Plan it on your next oil change and it is even easier to change out.Oh just so you know your 4.0 liter engines do make a little bit of noise but are pretty much bulletproof if you just do regular maintence on them.Next time you start it put your ear down by the driver side hood hinge.You will find some tapping noise there it is part of the evap system.If it had no oil pressure you would know it rite away.

Are a 1993 4.0 liter high output 2 wheel drive Jeep Grand Cherokee countries have the same block as a 1990 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 wheel drive it also has the 4.0 liter engine but it is not the high...

the first grand cherokee laredo was in 1992 . it was all jeep sports back then, the blocks are all the same .you will need to use some of the sensors from the old motor, the distributor and oil sending unit and temp sensor. will be no problem. if I can put a ford ranger motor in a mercury sable your swap is easier

Oil sensor light comes on randomly when rpm's reach 200, even after i replaced the sensor and got oil change...what else could be wrong?

Check the "GROUND WIRE(S)" I would inspect all wires that you or your oil changer may moved during the oil change and senosor change.

===

Use a de-greager spary to clean out the wiring harness one day before the job,

let the wire harness dry over night.

Next day,have a friend to do the "200 rpm" reving in a outdoor open air area.
Move and inspect wire for "GROUNING" to the metal frame.

Most likely to be near or around the motor mount.

Keep moving the wiring harness until you able to pinpoint the trouble spot.

====
Since you had a 1987,plastic connector(s) can be worn or no able to make a secure connection.

Use PB Blaster to clean all sensor tab(s) and connector(s).

I will email you a picture of PB Blaster later.

Do you best to check out these connetors.

Where is the APPS sensor located on the 2001 Gr Cherokee Laredo 4.0

APPS Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor is usually integrated to the pedal itself. If it has gone bad you have to replace the accelerator pedal assemble itself. 2 bolts/nuts and disconnect a wire harness.

Oil pressure drops to 0 in 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Does it act different when this happens???? If not do not worry about it. It is just the Oil Pump slowing down with the Motor and will not hurt anything. My 600 HP 95' Silverado does the Same thing and it is not a Problem
