When using the WD-1000 as a Dryer only, are you turning the rightmost knob Clockwise to the correct starting point?
Looking at the periphery of the knob, at the bottom, see the elongated "sausage" shape, outlined in blue? Turn the knob so it passes "Stop", and points there.
At the end of a completed Wash Cycle, that is where the pointer will be pointing. Once there, the machine switches automatically to Dryer Mode.
As long as the middle dial is set to a timer length greater than zero, the drying begins. I recommend turning the middle dial to somewhere around 2:00 o'clock, which corresponds to about 90 minutes if I remember correctly.
(You'll notice that is in the "Orange" area, meaning Full Heat - which is always fine because it never gets too hot anyway)
So, turn right dial to point to the "white sausage" at the bottom of the dial; Turn middle dial to 90 mins, or so; (Left dial only controls "Spin" speed - just set to max); and close the door. (It should begin drying)
Most dishwashers don't heat the water. They run on whatever temperature water you have it set for. They have heating coils on the bottom but that's for drying, not heating up the wash water.
This is taken verbatim from page 11 of my Frigidaire Gallery range:
"Seasoning, using and caring for the griddle Before first use:
-Wash griddle in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry completely.
-Apply a thin coat of vegetable oil to the entire surface (front and back of griddle).
-Preheat your oven to 350*F. Place the griddle on the upper rack in your oven.
-Bake griddle for 1 hour at 350*F, then turn oven OFF and let cool before removing.
-The surface may have a tacky feel to it from the seasoning process. If desired, wash the griddle in hot soapy water, rinse well, and dry completely.
Using the griddle:
Remove the center burner grate and carefully replace with the griddle (some models). Preheat the griddle for 5 minutes on medium to medium low setting. Slow preheat ensures even heat distribution during the cooking process.
DO NOT preheat the griddle on HI setting. Preheating on HI may warp the griddle and prevent even heat distribution.
After each use:
-To prevent rusting, store in a dry place and keep uncovered.
-After each use, clean with a stiff brush and hot water only.
-Do not clean griddle in the dishwasher.
-Dry immediately and apply a light coating of vegetable oil to griddle before storing.
Sounds like an old points engine. To do the drying right you should probably pull the cover then pull the fly wheel then remove the points cover and clean out any water. other then then cleaning the points you might let it sit out in the sun till it dries out and then give it a go. A few hours in the hot sun should warm it enough to do the trick.
sounds like your heating element is not working prtoperly or you are not washing in very hot water stop washer in middle of cycle and open it if steam come out hot steam be careful keep face away when you open itif not hot that could be the problem,A appliance serviceman once told me if water is hot enough and end of wash and rinse cycle not to run the dry cyvcle just open dryer a few inches and let the steam out Run hot water over a plate or a pot and set it in the drain tray in your sink notice how fast it dries itself while draining in the tray very hot water in a dish washer dopes the same good luck with this problem I hope my advice helps you oh yes one more thing always run the hot water till it get hot before you turn your dishwasher on
