You need to check the connection is tight from the antenna and also on the back of the tv. You may need to try another coaxial cable. Is your antenna powered, meaning does it have a power plug that needs to be plugged in? Is your tv an old crt television? You may need a converter box to be able to view digital channels. A signal booster may help you get more channels.

Your tv or antenna may be defective. You could try your antenna on another tv. If your other tv gets a signal, your tv's tuner could be bad. If the other tv goes not get a signal either your antenna could be bad. I hope this helps narrow down your problem.

Want to hook up an external antenna but am unsure of the TV configuration. I have settings of TV; AV, Svideo; YPbPr and PC. have settings such as STD; AIR; HRC and ?. What are the correct setting

You need to connect the coaxial cable from the antenna to the TV's coaxial RF (TV) connection. (Really old antennas may need a signal adapter - 300 Ohm to 75 Ohm.) Then make sure that the current video source (sometimes labeled Input) is set to TV. On the later Proscan PLED1526A, there is an Input button on both the TV and the remote to cycle through the list of video source options. Enter the menu of the TV (on screen display). Now you should be able to find a sub-menu for setting the channel information. Using the newer model above, you may have a Channel option. Use the left/right arrows to reach that. Then press the Enter to enter the sub-menu. Navigate to Signal Type with the up/down arrows and set this to Air for over the air channels. (Use the left/right arrows to select the signal type and press Enter.) I believe the HRC is for certain cable systems. Then try the Auto Channel Search.

Note: if the TV was manufactured before 2007, it may only have a NTSC tuner. In that case, you'll need a set-top OTA converter box (ATSC to NTSC) to get most channels. Only low-power stations are still broadcasting the NTSC signals. Depending on the model, you can connect this to the RF port of the TV or the AV (composite video) or the YPbPr (component video) source with the appropriate cables. Change the TV input as needed. Then scan for channels following the directions for the converter box.

I hope this helps.

Hi- I bought a used 37LC model (less than 1 yr old) without a manual. I cannot get any over the air local stations to come up under the TV mode. Does this model have a normal tuner ? The display shows...

if the display says cable, it won't get over the air signal. switch the source to antenna, hook up an antenna and go through auto program sequence.

Trying to hookup vhs analog player to hd proscan

your toshiba player should have output composite video and audio which are color coded Yellow for video, red and white for audio same goes for proscan hdtv. connect between the two keeping in mind color of cables. If the toshiba player is really old you can connect the RF cable output to antenna input to the proscan tv and watch taped programs from the player on channel 3 of the proscan tv. If then you want to keep the hookup and still watch HDTV connect the antenna to the toshiba vcr and when you shut off the vcr you can now watch the hdtv channels as usual because now you are bypassing the antenna to the Proscan tv. Hope this Helps..

Digital hook up

No, you will need an ATSC tuner box that will receive digital signals from the antenna and convert them to channel 3 or 4, and put the video and audio out on RCA plugs - yellow, red, and white.
